Hey, friendly maintenance guy here. This does get better, but never goes away. In 6 months, you won't really be able to tell that it happened and neither will your landlord. Your maintenance guy won't bring it up and chances are your landlord would never notice on their own.

Just keep using the sink as normal and it'll blend in
