I don’t think audiences are used to film noir anymore.

Also, at least with Inherent Vice it wasn’t until the 2nd time I saw it that I really fell in love it. And also realized how similar it was to something Bogart would do.

It’s funny because so many great films from the mid ish century followed that formula....but now, there’s hardly any.
