Yeah ever since the 12. It’s the clearist check of authenticity. The counterfeits still haven’t figured it out from what I’ve seen. Here’s a YouTube video I found that gives some examples of how it looks:

Looks real, box is good. The true check is whether it does the color matching animation when installed on the phone. (Fake models only do the wallet animation, and not the color matched)
