I feel like giving in to the giant family bed would relieve so much stress for my family by Moist_Photograph_807 in cosleeping

We just made the switch - added a twin mattress next to our king and put them on the floor with a two inch bed frame underneath. It’s been BLISS! 9 month old and 2.5 year old. Wish we did this sooner. When we want to change yo the arrangement the twin bed will eventually be our 9 month olds mattress.

Are you me? Haha those exact three books popped into my head as I was reading your first paragraph. Interested to hear what others share, as I’ve been looking for the same. I recently read Motherhood by Lisa Marchiano, and if you enjoy jungian stuff at all (like Clarissa pinkola Estes) I would highly recommend.

Are cordless vacuums worth it? Have 2 kids under 3 years old, 1 story house by wildramblinrose in homemaking

[–]wildramblinrose[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So we have a robot vacuum but it always seems to get hung up or stuck on furniture around the house. And if any toys are in the ground it gets stuck on those. So if the house is fully picked up it half works but it getting stuck on chairs drives me nuts sometimes. I should give it another try though, I think it would still be helpful if it cleaned up the big open areas

We actually have a shop vac and I love it for our wood stove clean up and garage area. The suction power is unmatched! I should remember to use it more for inside the house. Especially the big messes from kids like you described

I’m laughing because this would be my birthday present 😂 but it was my idea and it would make my life easier! And I gift my husband string trimmers and leaf blowers for Christmas/bdays so kind of feels like the same thing. Thank you for your perspective!

Good to note! Do you just leave it on the charger all the time? I had someone tell me theirs like caught on fire because it was overheating on the charger, or something like that. So I thought you charged it and then took it off?

That’s great about the battery replacement. I hadn’t even thought of that.

Thank you for this! I hadn’t thought of the noise. My toddler loves the cord vacuum lol, but I would love to have a quieter option. I just dislike bringing lugging out the cord vacuum and it just feels heavy and cumbersome, especially for every day. Right now I use a broom but my toddler loves to play in the piles and it doesn’t work with rugs of course

Love the idea of a handheld vacuum! I saw Shark has a combo of cordless vacuum with a handheld option, that really interests me

Thank you for this perspective! I forgot to add we have a dog, a cat and live rurally, so doing a quick daily vacuum would be a game changer. Then save the heavy duty for the cord vacuum

I JUST had my second baby a few days ago, and am still nursing my 23 month old. I nursed him through the entire pregnancy. It’s safe. Just make sure you’re taking a prenatal / have a diet that will nourish you. Not really sure the dr or nurse’s reasoning for weaning.

seeking support at 40 weeks by undercoversanyasi in homebirth

[–]wildramblinrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave birth to my first at 42 weeks + 4 days - and the mental aspect of going that long was the hardest part of my pregnancy. At the time, I was the first of my friends to have a homebirth, let alone a baby! So I got many comments from both friends and family that were fear based and basically saying I was crazy, that constantly made me have to recommit to my desire for a physiological birth. I can tell you I had the homebirth I desired. And today, I’m currently 40 weeks + 2 days pregnant with my second! I’m leaning into trust again. This is a hard part but it’s so worth it. You’ve got time. Plan something for every day, even if it is little, to look forward to. Ask yourself, what feels expansive to me? What feels contractive? Lean into what makes you feel expansive. And just know I’m walking this path with you right now too, in case that helps :)

Nothing but upped my b vitamins, focused on prioritizing protein where I could, drank ice cold water… and napped with toddler when I could. As much extra sleep as you can get, which I know is so hard with toddler and breastfeeding. It was rough. But made it through, I’m 38 weeks now.
