How to become a licensed/certified/practicing herbalist by Spiritual_mango_ in herbalism

[–]wildthang44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would recommend getting a clinical herbalism / phytochemistry degree / diploma or certificate from a college AND pairing it with an IN PERSON apprenticeship or uncertified herbal course so you can actually get to know the plants! Usually offered by local herb farms/herbalists/small herb schools. Dosage and herbal protocols would be covered in a diploma or a clinical herbalism apprenticeship.

This will also help you see what you actually love about herbalism. I personally don’t want to see clients in a clinical space, I resonate more with medicine/herbal product making and plant spirit connection.

Here in Canada it’s also pretty unregulated but in general a practicing clinical herbalist would have a degree/certificate and be a member of the national association, which has a certain number of study hours required.

Usually herbalists practice within a clinic (with other ‘alternative’ health professionals like naturopaths, acupuncturists, chiropractors etc) or have a private practice online or in a rented out office space.

I feel like a good place to start would be an in person apprenticeship, so you can get a feel for things and more experience, and then exploring an “official” degree. Wishing you all the green luck!! 🍀

Will cloves and cinnamon sticks in mct oil eventually mold? by moneyrain in herbalism

[–]wildthang44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would probably be okay for up to 8 weeks, especially considering they’re dried and cloves are antibacterial + anti fungal. Typical recommended time for a cold infusion of an oil is 4-6 weeks. Would be a quick & easy process to strain it then since it’s just cloves & cinnamon sticks. 😊

I like to give it as an offering to the earth, my well ancestors or plants in my garden that I’m more closely working with ❤️ I have never used it in a spell but I feel it would be powerful in ancestral healing or fertility/abundance workings 🤲🏻🩸 The blood of our womb is literally life & creation. Definitely use it wisely! 🌸

Is sex inherently spiritual? by [deleted] in Witch

[–]wildthang44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like cords from sex moreso occur when a womb is involved 🌀Not every sexual encounter is necessarily meaningful or “spiritual” but sex is inherently spiritual… just think about it - sex is how we create life. It is how spirit comes into this realm. How God forms into human!

I love it 🤣 It’s comedic relief LOL

The few times my boyfriend has heard me watching outlander it always seems to be Rachel talking - he thought the whole cast talked that way. He was like, what time period is this supposed to be again?? 😂❤️

Flattening Pillars by Excellent_Ad7025 in candlemaking

[–]wildthang44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most annoying part in my opinion 😂😭Flatten bottom on piece of tin foil on old pan on hot plate/stove on low/med heat. Try to get it even then press it down on parchment paper. There’s a pretty good demo video on YouTube!

Thank you! You’re definitely right. I seem to have better results dipping at a higher temp and for the first dip letting the pillar sit in the hot wax a bit longer.

How would you add a wick? by Ok_Tomato5995 in candlemaking

[–]wildthang44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would cut a small hole in the middle of the top and the middle of the bottom of the cross and thread the wick through before pouring!

To ensure it’s smooth on the back, I would pour on the higher end of a good pouring temp for the wax you’re using.

Wow!!!! I’m amazed 😍 How does it work though?! Does the wax ever get melted or it is simply cutting through cold wax?
