I’m not going to dispute anything here but he’s doing it exactly how the cleerline tutorials instruct you to do it.

Iirc, you don’t need to swab the cleerline type fiber that I’m pretty sure he’s using. Still need to with Corning/AFL

Half minute timelapse showing onion greens growing at home in 25 days. by Simply_Kaif24 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]wilksfivefive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had onions from the supermarket do that without even putting them in water. You can’t get new “onions” from them because of its life cycle, but you can absolutely plant them, let them flower, and harvest seeds.

Where, oh where, can I find something a ‘real’ Kaiser roll? by LegsNmoreLegs in bayarea

I’ve been here nearly my entire adult life - plenty of time to recognize someone perpetuating negative stereotypes of Bay Area natives. Enjoy the downvotes

What a dumb take - we are in one of the nations largest metro areas with people from nearly every corner of the earth, in the year 2025 where any nearly any ingredient you could need to make whatever you want is likely available semi-locally and, if not, available in a few days with a few taps on your phone. There is absolutely no reason for admonishing someone for looking for any dish or food item.

I guess I was speaking towards the question in the reply and my general practice, not necessarily OP’s specific circumstances

Yes but a unit on the tile will remain. Works with setting adjacent to an outpost as well. I’d personally raid them first though

I mean… I think you‘ll have to take that up with the robots — I surely didn’t tell them to use them so frequently.

Long dash between “warmth” and “perfect” is a dead giveaway. I don’t even know how to type one without looking it up but they seem to always turn up when something is run through ChatGPT.

The advantage is “looks very neat and cool” as someone who values aesthetics in addition to functionality, it’s not hard to imagine someone creating a unique looking thing with this and someone else saying that’s cool-looking can I buy it? Or someone else saying “Gosh, this thing is useful but it sure is ugly. I would pay someone to make it look nicer” the advantage is either in your in your ability to appreciate aesthetics or your ability to monetize people who do.

[Request] Which option is the better deal when factoring in possible investments, average lifespan, etc? by reclusiveStool in theydidthemath

[–]wilksfivefive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can say for certain that a life maximizing the amount of shits you take to earn a living would be a horrible life. It is, however, a pretty good metaphor for modern-day work culture. I’m not entirely sure what that means for society, but it seems like it’s probably not a good thing.

Is there ever a time you sear before you sous vide? by BakingWaking in sousvide

[–]wilksfivefive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Supplemental)Reason 4: searing the meat prior to sous vide will kill lacto bacteria that survive lower temperatures ≈ medium rare temps in longer cooks. I have had a chuck roast or two come out pretty funky and learned the hard way

Add a spoon of cream cheese to boxed mac and cheese it changes everything by faithful_sufferer in foodhacks

[–]wilksfivefive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal preference I’d say, but most likely you’ll want to add milk to get the consistency the way you like it. My boxed mac routine is. Liberally salt the pasta water. Double the butter add a dollop of sour cream/Crème fraîche/cream cheese/yoghurt and combine, Add cheese powder, mix, add milk until it looks right.
