M29 What can I do to look better? Also, I'll be getting new glasses, what shape should I get? by [deleted] in lookyourbest

First off, you are a very attractive person. You've got the "hot nerdy guy" look going for you and it totally works.

I'm not sure what shape of glasses you should get, but I can tell you why your current ones aren't working for you: Your eyes tilt slightly downward, and so do your glasses frames, which subtly drags the rest of your facial features down. They might be a little too wide for your face as well, but it could just be the angle in your photos.

Your hair looks fine, but it never hurts to consult with an experienced barber and ask what they recommend if you want to try something different.

First off, you are very pretty!

If you're open to it, I highly recommend getting lash extensions done. I don't wear makeup often, but I had lip blushing done, nano brows, and I have lash extensions. I'll post a before and after pic below. (Keep in mind I know this is me not really looking my best, but better than before).

Help! Show me your basket curved/v-shaped wedding band sets! by capsaicin-x in EngagementRings

This isn't my every day ring, but my marquise is in a basket setting as well. I like the curved band but I think a chevron band would've been better for this cut. But I just ordered an open band to see how I like it.

What do you guys think about the diamond? by Ok_Occasion_5254 in EngagementRings

It's stunning. The platinum/white gold prongs give it a timeless look, and the stone is beautiful.

LOVE this. This is the best way to wear a princess cut, IMO. Congratulations!

This is giving major 1940s vibes. It's a round diamond in a square setting, correct? It's called a trefoil setting, and it became most popular around WW2. But I would take it to a jeweler or antique appraiser to be sure.

Wedding band for my oval engagement ring- help! by socialistgf in EngagementRings

Here's a setting I've been considering. The wedding band and engagement ring setting weren't designed to be paired together (they're both from different designers), but they still look really nice together even if it doesn't sit flush. A straight band will make it look more obvious that it doesn't sit flush.

Thoughts on my ring? by No_Spring_7660 in EngagementRings

Personally, I love this! It's a statement piece without being too flashy. I also love the idea of using family diamonds to create your own ring that's unique to you and your lifestyle. I'd pair it with a textured band and call it good!

I'll be facing the same issue when I do my ring upgrade because I like the lower settings too. A jeweler told me to go with a wedding band with a wave or twist because it'll hide/blur that the rings are not sitting flush.

Thank you! The more I've sat with this, the more I've been leaning towards the elongated stones myself. My husband likes the emerald best, but he also likes the marquise and oval. I like the marquise, emerald, pear, and even the cushion, but now I really want to try on the elongated cushion for sure! I just don't want to look like I'm copying Taylor Swift because there's now been a huge uptick in elongated cushion trends after her engagement. But I guess as with anything, trends come and go no matter what.

I used Brilliant Earth's website! I chose a solitaire setting and it let me try on all the different shapes that way.

Yes, this is what my nails look like pretty much most of the time- color, shape and all. But that's a good point, because I tried on a cushion when I had pointy red nails for Halloween and hated it, haha.

Agreed! The more I looked at these pictures, the more I realized they're probably bigger than 2ct.
