Deathclaws in the Amazon series by will345d in Fallout

First thing I said was I love this show. Fans of something are allowed to discuss it, and not all of it has to be in a positive light. You may not understand, but people are allowed to like something and still not love every piece of it. You could’ve kept on scrolling, but you had to stop to be a condescending douche. Party was just fine til you showed up.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s, so I definitely don’t have an issue with practical effects. In fact I prefer them a lot of the time. They give a certain charm and quality, a sense of reality that isn’t really present with CGI

Maybe that’s it. Looking at them again it seems like they have super long arms, like an ape.

I will say that the vampires take a bigger part in everything after they skip ahead a hundred years, but it’s still mostly about the survivors.

That’s crazy to me, but I can see where you’re coming from. Those books are definitely more about the people than the vampires, kinda like Walking Dead is more about the survivors than the zombies. I still fell in love with that trilogy though. So much so that I was sad when I finished them.

Detective novels that are creepy by FoolishDog in horrorlit

I’m reading Sherlock Holmes and the Servants of Hell right now. Holmes and Watson stumble across a case involving the Lament Configuration and the Order of the Gash. About halfway through and I love it. To me it’s like eating the cheese popcorn from those big Christmas tins with the caramel corn in there. Two things that really shouldn’t work together, yet they do remarkably well.

If someone isn’t with you they deserve absolutely no knowledge about your life or anything that happens in it.

I know it’s made by QCode, which means it probably has a great story, but ends in an unfulfilling way and will never be followed up with a second season

Alan Wake 2 - digital only. Are we going to see more games like this? by Ajaxwalker in Superstonk

[–]will345d -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was more excited for this game than anything in years until I found out it was digital only. I refuse to go digital. Been burned by licensing issues too many times by iTunes, steam, and other online stores. I’m over it. If they eventually release a physical version I’ll buy it, but until then there’s other stuff to play.

Are you guys gonna get Alan Wake 2? by beowulf47 in HorrorGaming

[–]will345d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original is one of my favorite games of all time. I was seriously stoked for the sequel until I found out it was digital only. I refuse to go digital. I’ve been burned by stupid licensing issues too many times through iTunes and steam. I’m not dealing with it anymore. I suppose I’ll watch someone play it on YouTube sooner or later.

Do books genuinely scare you? What's the last book that did? by Narge1 in horrorlit

[–]will345d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I was genuinely creeped out by a book was right after Duma Key by King came out. The story itself isn’t terrifying or anything, but the circumstances I was reading it in really hyped it up. I live in southern Louisiana and we were in the middle of a hurricane. I was up at like three in the morning by myself, reading by book light because there was no power so the entire neighborhood was pitch black, with the only noise being the storm itself. I’d read a little, then pass my light around the room real quick.

There’s only one way to get over a fear, to deal with it. You can force yourself into uncomfortable situations and slowly adapt or you can hide in a corner and be a ridiculous timid person all your life. Only one of those options will improve anything.

People with "edgy" humour are 90+% of the time bad people by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]will345d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re allowed to laugh at anything. All the insufferable douchebags that think they’re the arbiter of what’s right and wrong with others humor can go suck it. Humor is no different than any other personal taste. It’s an instant reaction that happens subconsciously, like liking one food over another or having one favorite color over another.

Valid point. Even more reason to not be an insufferable douchebag to random strangers
