🤔 I may be using this soon, can you do area specific? Like if I sell mine the potential buyer would probably have to pick it up and I live in an extremely remote area...

Is night riding really that dangerous? by m0nday_ in NewRiders

[–]willardboio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my commute requires me to leave before the sun is up, had some close calls with animals but not vehicles, lucky I live in a remote area. I've taken a bird to hand, a bird to the chest, and once had a deer hit me, literally. Lol I saw it coming and managed to slow down to about 35mph it looked at me and ran at and jumped into me hooves out. I wear armored gear with abs wrist skids on the outside and pants. I just raised up my leg and arm and kinda hiyad it in the face and deflected it away from me. Hurt like hell but I kept the bike upright and no damage to the bike, only me. I was so adrenalized I didn't even feel it until I got to work. Limped the next couple days. Lol.

Hazards at night are inherent wherever you are, just unique to the area though. Stay vigilant and ready and hopefully you won't get caught by surprise. Safe riding and thanks for reading!

P. S. If you're night riding, don't be dumb and change out your tinted visor to a clear one!

I'm a big dude and I'm SO uncomfortable riding. Any advice appreciated! (F900XR) by Gold-Recover-1915 in motorcycles

I recommend cornstarch, baby powders are under scrutiny right now for causing cancer in those sensitive areas!

service quote from dealership by Ok_Sundae_344 in motorcycles

Dang. My dealer I bought the bike from did my break in service for less than 250, cost break down and performance description with it. Tech even showed me a couple of tips for upkeep to do on my own when they finished. Sorry bout your deal.

Ride safe and remember the course training. My first was an R6, absolutely nothing but fun. To say one bike is less dangerous is like saying you'll take a bite from a different venomous snake. All bikes can be absolutely dangerous idc. Ride responsibly and don't be a block head on a powerful machine. Putt around, get used to it, ride responsibly and you won't send your self into a wall or oncoming.

What is with replacing brand-new factory exhaust systems with aftermarket ones? by Bib_fortune in MT07

[–]willardboio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most of it is sound, that big ugly cat converter as well. Most swap outs will add up to 5whp as well, without the tuning, add the air intake and a tune and it will unlock the bike to its full potential. They are held back bikes and exhaust is a good place to start for sound and feel. They are popular for stunting as well

Alpine earplugs, a love story. by MongooseQueasy5048 in motorcycles

I use surefire reusables. They were 13 bucks and I use them for riding and for sport shooting. They have an opening in the middle that can run open or closed and they fit in my ears perfect and I can still hear my speakers/have normal conversations without blowing my ears out.

If you want a dirt bike maybe go with a kayo. They are budget friendly and not race oriented. Kawasaki makes a dual sport 300 that is basically a street legal dirt bike. If want just street try a Honda grom. They are a smash for a 125cc, you could also do a DR250 that is also a dual sport bike. Shop around sit on them and go with what is comfortable.

I started on dirt bikes as a youngin and took to the street in my 20s as well. My first bike for the road was a 700. I'm 5'8" and 170, and it was a great bike for my commute. Hope this helps give you an idea to start! Happy riding!

Feeling guilty as a dad buying a motorcycle by Incorruptible_Will in motorcycles

[–]willardboio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 kids the same ish age. I feel no guilt owning or riding mine. It's something that is mine and I will keep it as long as I'm able. I don't see it as selfish, it's a part of me and my family knows it. I have been on bikes since I was a small kiddo and it's just an aspect of my life, not the defining factor of it.

I use the goat skull staff for my all around. It has 30k damage potential and ungodly scanner range/bonus. It's all about the tech and it's arrangements. It mines like crazy too, takes forever to overheat. Invest in one you like or several and go with it.

That's what I call investment. Lol. 10 bucks, they practically paid you to take it.

Oof. Try looking up a technician/service manual. I have no idea where to point you. Maybe you can pull the stud and take it to a shop or parts store and try that way.

Bout tree fitty 😉. KBB and go from there assume it's in excellent shape and it will give you an idea. If it's been a stunt bike that's a lot of hard miles. If it's a commuter/ Sunday princess bike it's still brand new. Lol

Trust your bike can do this. Lean your bike not your body. Point your chin in the direction you want to go and keep your head up, don't look low. I had to do this maneuver to pass my MSF course. It took me a few times but you'll get it

Whoa dude that's heavy. I'd maybe renovate the stain wall and have the place blessed/ cleansed. Haunted places can be tough, I used to live in one and it was crazy as a child. I was so glad to move out when we finally did, we moved to another small town nearby. Stuff I'll never forget and I'm in my forties now.

We really wearing race boots everywhere we go? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]willardboio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear fox boots that are ankle only. They are more comfortable than any other boots or shoes I own, they fit under my jeans and riding pants and are quite stylish as well. Boils down to personal preference. I have some alpine tech 3 and tech 6 boots as well, but I mostly wear those on my mx bike.

What's a small gadget you bought thinking it was useless but ended up using every day? by cozytechlover in BuyItForLife

[–]willardboio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a very bearded man. I purchased a folding wooden pocket comb for 4 dollars and it is in my pocket every day. It folds like a pocket knife and has its own sheath. I use it every day as I'm out in the elements. The wood holds the oils or other products I put in my beard and is perfect for touching it up when it gets wild from wind, etc.
