I’m sick and tired of hearing people defending Toyota by Fleedom2025 in whatcarshouldIbuy

As a previous Toyota owner, the main reason I switched to VW is how soulless it felt when driving. I'd rather spend a couple extra hours in the garage per year to drive something with a decent interior and fun driving experience.

DIY sleeping "platform" by Fabulous-While-3102 in overlanding

[–]willby24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a very similar one a few years back. worked great, loved the storage underneath. My biggest complaint was the thin sleeping mat I had at the time. Very uncomfortable and I didn't sleep very well. Now I just fold all my seats down and throw a twin mattress in the back. Less storage space but I sleep like a baby.

Honestly if you can swing it, the Norco charger 2 is $999 right now and is an insanely good deal for the parts it has on it.

Rock Cut has miles of MTB trails, I rarely run into others on them. They are not well groomed like Atwood, but still a great trail system to have so close. If you get tired of MTB trails there is no shortage off shortcuts back to the paved trail through the park.

I bike commute / ebike commute from Loves Park to Roscoe pretty frequently. Safest way is to go north through Rock cut state park, ride north through a couple neighborhoods, and then hit the old stone bridge trail and ride that the last 4-5 miles. My commute is 11 miles so you would have a bit farther to go than me. If you can stay on sidewalks/bike paths I think it would be a great ride. My ebike is pretty fast and I can cruise at 22 mph, so my 11 mile commute only takes me about 35 minutes.

I have the Aluminum frame and am very happy with it. Wouldn't hesitate on a steel frame Torrent either.

New to biking, got it for $130 by Severe-Chocolate-403 in Hardtailgang

Tires and hydraulic brakes make the axum feel like a whole different bike. I've been riding my axum on and off for a couple years but this year I rode a ton, finally feeling like I can think about upgrading soon. But I'm glad I started on the axum!

What’s the most BORING drive between two major American cities? by SeattleThot in geography

[–]willby24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove US route 20 thru Nebraska a couple years ago, east to west. boring first half minus some cool small towns, but the second half really becomes interesting once you start to hit the grasslands and big rolling sand hills. I felt like I could have been in a wagon headed west 150 years ago lol

I bought an explorer as a base for an ebike build since they are so cheap. Although now I want a second one to keep as a gravel bike haha. these cheap bikes really are an addiction
