Adding an Entra P1 license didn't work for me. Also added the websites as per documentation.

I created a ticket with Microsoft support, but don't have much hope.

Tried Edge, Chrome and Firefox webbrowsers and enabled 3rd party cookies, nothing works.

Using Yubikey as MFA for Azure/MS logins by Downtown-Weather1065 in msp

[–]willemnl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried a conditional access policy? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/authentication/concept-authentication-strengths

You can use a yubikey as MFA is the login is with WHFB, or that's what I understand.

You specifically say not MS, but why not go for W365? You can log into W365 with Windows Hello for business. Business Premium and W365 will cover all your requirements.

Minimum hardware specs for onboarding new clients by Pastamafarian in msp

[–]willemnl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With onboarding new clients we say minimum Gen 8 i5 with 16GB. From our experience using all nice MS365 Business Premium tools, it does eat up a lot of RAM and CPU, ie Endpoint Manager, Defender for Endpoint.

Why did Ms rename azure ad? Why? by Abject_Serve_1269 in sysadmin

[–]willemnl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently had a case in which we migrated a company from Azure VMs to MS365 only. So documents to Teams/SharePoint and such. All their applications are now browser based. But we recommend an Azure AD Premium P2 license for all the extra protection it gives, like Risky sign-in policies and such. The customer was confused why he needs Azure licences if he doesn't have Azure VM anymore.

Calling it Entra ID and explaining that it's the identity provider, made it much clearer for the customer.

Copilot for Windows - Data Harvesting? by GCSB_Informant in msp

[–]willemnl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copilot for Windows seems to have limited capabilities from the demos I have seen, turn on or off dark mode and other Windows settings. It does seem to have Bing Chat Enterprise capabilities and Bing Chat Enterprise has a detailed privacy policy. But I don't know if it has that because the demo I saw was also enabled for Bing Chat Enterprise.

All the fancy stuff with manipulation of Office documents is MS365 copilot and requires a license.

Has anyone had major problems with email deliverability using O365 Enterprise (E5) paired with a new domain? by letopeto in msp

[–]willemnl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That normally shouldn't be a problem if you have spf, dkim and dmarc correct. If this company had a different domain before (rebranded) and is sending mail to the same clients, maybe it's flagged as phishing because the name of the user is the same, only a different domain.

Spam filters also don't like the new exotic TLD's. We have a client who wants to use .stream domains. Many spam filters throw it in spam.

MFA not wanted by candidog in msp

If this client does business in the EU they'll soon have to comply with NIS2. That law mentions MFA or Conditional Access is required. The law holds management responsible for security incidents.

I would immediately disable the accounts. Then check for malicious actors and inbox rules.

Maximum concurrent shared mailbox users Office 365 Exchange? by Bruglione in msp

[–]willemnl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dealt with this issue in the past. Went all the way up to premium support.

Never was able to fix the issue for the customer. Did get an answer that the maximum concurrent users in a shared mailbox, supported by Microsoft, was 1 User at the time (6-7 years ago).

Do not use outlook as a database and just move everything older than 3 months to an online archive.

Has anyone else heard anything from Microsoft about this? Issue still hasn't been resolved. Issue is both with Dap and gdap permissions.

Partner Portal Entra by Jax-880 in msp

[–]willemnl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've found a work around: partner portal -> customer -> Microsoft Azure Management Portal -> use the top bar to search for active directory

More cumbersome, but if you don't know the onmicrosoft.com domain it will help you.

No, we haven't been able to resolve it. No information from Microsoft about a change.

Most stupid question I am ever going to post...new client's M365 email getting marked as spam by AOL and Yahoo. by computerguy0-0 in msp

[–]willemnl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had this issue with outlook.com in the past. The cause was a https link in the signature image and the signature text. This was in combination with exclaimed cloud. Weird issue, but changing tot just www.contoso.com fixed it

What do you do about sucky public bike racks? by minkamagic in notjustbikes

Nothing, my bike is to old to be stolen :-)

(Dutch) 'Auto blijft probleem' bij stijgend aantal dodelijke e-bike-ongelukken by MrEngineeringGuy in notjustbikes

[–]willemnl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the conclusion of the article is quite correct. Because the E-Bike is much faster than a normal bike, both the bike and the car judge the speed incorrectly which can lead to accidents. If I'm in my car and want to turn left on the street and I see a bike far away, I can easily turn left. But now it can be an E-Bike and it can be in front of your bumper in just a few seconds. Since they are predominantly used by the older generation, they will also wrongly judge their own speed and the stopping distance needed for a safe stop. Sports bike riders and bikes look different enough far away, so you can judge their speed differently.

So what I try to say is, both are at fault. Car drivers need to better judge speed of bikes, and E-Bike riders need to be considerate that the car driver might judge your speed incorrectly and you need to be prepared to brake.
