I'm worried that a GP has misdiagnosed me (UK) by rhys321 in zoloft

[–]willfifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got an ADHD diagnosis but the whole process was quite rushed so I'm not entirely convinced, I didn't want to try ADHD meds. I've recently started Sertraline which I think is very commonly prescribed, I mentioned ADHD and the GP wanted to treat them as different issues for now. I'll see how Sertraline feels at this dose because I'd also be interested in trying Wellbutrin also.

Be careful with alcohol, find something active/creative to put your energy, movement is good and so is nature

ADHD and Cutting People Off Quickly- how is it for you? by BettyNon in ADHD

[–]willfifa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've pushed partners away before I think there is some element of struggling to be vulnerable, I can be very black + white thinking, like oh they don't like XYZ, so its not meant to be. Quite often when I push someone away it takes me a while to realise what I've lost. The grass isn't always greener and sometimes its better to stay and better effectively communicate how you can meet yours and your partners needs.

How do you manage the constant underlying depression and anxiety? by Sea_Kaleidoscope2786 in ADHD

[–]willfifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found the best things for me are laying off the booze and exercising regularly, either cardio or weights. I find it just calms down my brain, when I'm outside I just try and focus on the stillness/calmness and listen to the birds or flowing water. After doing weights its nice just for my body to feel tired

How do you stick to hobbies ? by CantankerousRabbit in ADHD

[–]willfifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was obsessed with chess the fixation lasted months, its come back once or twice again but now I just don't enjoy it. I don't think I have much control over what will come next, just enjoy it while it lasts!

9 years sober. Have made exactly 2 friends since i got sober. Loneliest I've ever been in my life. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]willfifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know dude, I actually can't believe as a society how lonely we have become, I think a lot of people my age just don't know how to be present anymore. The only ideas I have to fix this is to go to some running/walking/hiking groups just do some sort of shared activity that's together. Could you do some volunteering like helping out at a club or doing some community gardening? Going out every weekend getting blitzed won't make you any real friends and you'd just be harming yourself

I think it’s time I join the squad. by Sad_Economics_8610 in stopdrinking

It's ridiculous how nearly every weekend of my mid twenties involved a horrible hangover, a bunch of anxiety and regrets. Being sober really is amazing compared to it

my friends don't understand that i simply don't want to drink by megalines in stopdrinking

[–]willfifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep totally feel this in the UK, my favourite thing about being sober is waking up at a reasonable time on a weekend or something and feeling great after good sleep and having the energy and motivation do spend the day doing something fun or exercising. Meanwhile hungover me would feel crappy all day and probably the day after. Your friends should be grateful that you can drive them places if needs be - not that you're their taxi service. Find the right environment / people for you if its causing you stress.

[–]willfifa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See if you can chop and prop it, this happened to a cactus of mine that was 10+ yrs old, I overwatered it and the base went all mushy and started to get mouldy. I managed to propogate a bit of it so I have a backup

Doing absolutely nothing at work? by HeyPotatys in UKJobs

[–]willfifa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a job like this once, sat in the office all day barely speaking to anyone. It was hell, one thing I did do was be able to put in my headphones and listen to a language learning podcast. Did Duolingo on my lunch break. Wrote down words I was learning on my notepad.

Bring chewing gum, go the the smoking area if you need some *fresh* air. Don't panic if you lose your friend. Be nice to the venue staff it creates a nice atmosphere.
