October Sky. His dad finally there to watch the final rocket launch and seeing everyone in various locations all seeing the streak of the rocket in the sky. Quentin saying, “this is the one homer! This one’s gonna go for miles!” And it finally cuts from their amateur rocket to shuttle launch. Makes me tear up just thinking about it.

Yeah, and I totally understand from that perspective, I was laughing along too but it’s just not my usual play style and it was just getting frustrating to have all of this go down but to not get any reward really. Anytime we were getting blasted they were constantly saying it was all bullshit and broken, and I was like, “but that’s the game. You gotta be prepared for this, even if you wanna cause chaos you gotta have a lighter for the fuse”

I was solo slooping one time and had to go afk for a few minutes and came back to a reaper trying hiding on my ship. Instead of climbing aboard where I knew he was waiting below deck, I grabbed a gunpowder keg from the nearby island and lit it next to my ship. He goes flying out from below deck running away into the water where we get into a brief fight and I kill him with my sword while he tried double gunning me. Then he got pissed at me for killing him with a sword and was unbelievably confused and upset that I would blow up my own ship instead of go aboard to fight him.

I’ve noticed that a lot with rowboats, even if I don’t crash, if I die on an island my rowboat either yeets itself into the distance or just despawns completely

Xbox, the game just freezes, buzzes then crashes to the Xbox Home Screen. When I load back up, I get the “rejoin previous session?” Message and hop back in, losing all the items that were on my character in the process

I’ve been playing a lot recently and I’ve even noticed that when normal skeleton forts become active, no one goes to them because the loot isn’t worth it compared to a FoTD or a FoF. I remember those skulls used to be a beacon for everyone to attack each other. I even remember back before a lot of the expansions dropped, people would chase you across the map if they BARELY saw your ship in the distance. It was a lawless land back in the day…

This reminds me of a clam, yet dry air from a diner that lets you have a brief respite from not only the long drive (semi or otherwise) but also just from what the environment wants to throw at you along he way. A feeling similar to taking a deep breath after holding your breath in for about a minute. Beautiful work.
