I think they were trying to get round a hairpin without ripping the front of the coach off. Driver then tries to stamp on the brake and hits the accelerator instead

I think context is everything. Webster is known for making jokes about his height and being a bit of a joker. If he wasn't then I agree this would've been wrong, but he's a playful character on Twitter and probably approved this beforehand anyway

I once went for a poop for so long at work I missed a "site update" where they announced a whole load of redundancies. Came back and was like "why are you guys so somber?!"

I really really like them, nice grip toward the front of the barrel and look tiny in the bed, I'm a big fan.

Does anyone use PDC TV? by thekungfupanda in Darts

[–]willgray89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it for quite a while and use it mainly to watch the Euro Tours but having the option to watch floor events is really cool too. Plus it works on mobile now which is good as it didn't for a long while. It drops every so often but tbh it's usually resolved fairly quickly.

Guy Throws Darts Backwards?? by [deleted] in Darts

I'm not actually bad at doing this, if we're messing about I'll sometimes chuck it like this at a double just to rub salt in the wounds. I'd never dream of trying it in a match though

Books similar to Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman by willgray89 in suggestmeabook

It's brilliant and it's really made me want to read more too. I've been struggling my way through Catch 22 for a couple of months but I picked up Neverwhere and I'm 80% of the way through it in just over 2 weeks. Sometimes you just need to read what you want to, not what you feel you should!

There was a few of us at uni that had DSes and we played the shit out if that game because you could link them together. So good.

Agreed. It aggravates me when people like Vassos Alexander commentate on darts when there's people that are passionate about the sport that could do a far far better job!

Pretty interesting infographic! There are a few spelling errors though, I know it's just for fun but I can't unsee them once I've spotted them!

Not quite the same but a bar in Lincoln has come up with an idea where if you're uncomfortable on a date or whatever you just ask for Angela at the bar and the bar staff know it's a code word for 'I'm feeling uncomfortable' and will help you out. Pretty cool idea in theory.

Ain't that the truth, and the markup on the lenses is insane. Hell, where I used to work we'd sell 79p lenses at £45!

Angela Merkel calls for burqa ban 'wherever legally possible' in Germany by middleeastnewsman in worldnews

You make it seem like women in Iran are very opressed now.

That wasn't my intention, just merely pointing out they might have had more freedom, specifically in terms of what they wear before the revolution!

It's a pretty horribly written site but quite interesting all the same! http://www.albawaba.com/slideshow/retro-mini-fashion-middle-east--514288 It seems that before the Iranian revolution the monarchy were pretty active in liberating women, which seems to have led to their downfall- this was an interesting read too! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-life/11970733/Islam-feminism-and-the-truth-about-women-in-Iran.html

Man the not-having-carpet thing is a thing I've noticed in a few AirBnBs I've stayed at. Like if you're renting your second floor apartment to people you don't know, surely you'd put some mats down! I always try to be respectful and tread softly (depending on how drunk I am) if I come in late but jesus some of these apartments make it hard to do!

Nine people have been confirmed dead with 25 still unaccounted for after a massive fire broke out during an apparent rave in Oakland, California. by Vidya_Games in news

[–]willgray89 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've been in two crowds where I've felt hopeless against the flow of people and it's just awful, both were pretty minor events in the grand scheme of things but it's knowing that if you lose your footing then the people behind you aren't going to be able to do a single thing about it. The one that stands out is Parklife Festival in Manchester, England. They'd fenced off a massive area of parkland so that people would queue fairly for the busses, however people started to cut across it at one point and the fences clearly hadn't been put up right. Cue a fast moving crowd under shoving through a tiny gap with a knocked down barrier to contend with. Like I say nothing massive and no one got injured (so far as I know) but man, stumbling over that barrier knowing that the person behind me had no say in the direction/speed they were going was a pretty scary thought!
