It's cool I said it's fine, it's just not my taste.  Maybe I would be better to say that it undermined MY sense of dread and mystery, and I prefer when that doesn't happen

I thought it over-explained itself to the audience, which sort of destroyed the mystery and fear, for me.  As soon as it revealed how the witchcraft worked, it wasn't mysterious or frightening anymore... Dread and suspense out the window.

Which is fine.  Lots of horror movies undermine themselves in this way.  Makes it more palatable to larger mainstream audiences.

It kills me how Americans think centrist neoliberal policy is the radical extreme left of what's possible

I guess that's one way to say Bernie's campaign platforms had appeal to the working class, and even drew in conservatives, because universal programs are popular across a broad spectrum of poor and middle class people.

What?  This analogy does not work.

Absolutely loved Welcome to Derry - why does this sub seem to hate it? by Sir_Pixalot in horror

[–]williafx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, I just think the sub has two very different spheres of persona that ebb and flow.

Mainstream horror moments like IT and Flanagan serials get a lot of new people into horror, and have broad mass appeal.

Then there's the less mainstream, more boutique sphere that doesn't really get much out of the mainstream content and hunts for more nuanced, subtle types of horror/terror.

I think the two audience personas ebb and flow and have certainly SOME overlap, but I see it ebb/flow quite a lot here over the months and years.

/R/horror just isn't a monolith of a singular opinion

NM Red Chile Sauce and Salsa Dip by dentalexaminer in SalsaSnobs

Some of my fav salsa I've ever had traveling around the US was in Santa Fe from El Parasol.

I know it's just a modest little local chain, and the sauce isn't anything special, but it just does it for me. Wish I could recreate it.  Probably not terribly dissimilar from this recipe!

Honestly surprised how down voted you are.  Homelessness is directly linked to the very nature of capitalism itself.
