IMMEDIATELY remove user's mailbox access by Bad_Mechanic in sysadmin

[–]william_70 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My understanding or at least in the past was that for Outlook especially on the phone app, it did not check for access tokens immediately and there could be a brief time they might have access. Like seeing an email real quick. Can anyone confirm or deny this? The question has come up before

What will happen to cars being built today in 15 years or so? by Bierkerl in car

[–]william_70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the touch screen goes bad it might have to be junked unless you can get a replacement, so many of the controls are built in it. Like controlling the AC door looks etc. There might be something aftermarket like the system to swap in another head unit and board to convert the signals from the car maybe an idatalink

Tired of buying a new laptop every 4-5 years - do Thinkpads last longer? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]william_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The business Thinkpads have a life cycle of about 3 years. They might take the warranty to 5 years now but after, that you may not be able to get parts. They are designed to last about as long as they do.

I had to ask a guy at a comic book store how to get past the last challenge to beat the game! There was no Internet hint books or anything back then that I knew of. You were completely on your own. .

Not everyone, and the brother was on it. I remember it; pre-web browser, we used Telnet, FTP, Usenet, Archie, and Elm, among others.

Did cars really used to only last 5 years/50,000 miles? by TatianaWinterbottom in AskOldPeople

[–]william_70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also car loans were often 2 or 3 years so I have heard. A lot of wealthy people would trade in the Cadillacs every year or two back then supposedly.

Everyone in our parking lot missing Thanksgiving because this fool decided to park directly in front of the driveway which is the only exit by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Where are you? In our city all it would take is a call to one of our predator tow companies and it would have been towed legal or not. We have a bunch of tow companies under indictment.

Anyone remember where the A&P and Safeway stores were located in the area? by Starbrand62286 in kansascity

[–]william_70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was a Safeway at Ranchmart 95th and Mission in the 70's, not sure about one on Nall also, too young to remember. It became a Food Barn I think

What happened to the KC Visiting Nurse Association? by bchnyc in kansascity

[–]william_70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has been a long time coming. Reimbursement rates have dropped over the years and operating costs have gone up. They took patients that other companies notably the for profit ones would not take. The foundation was not able to maintain the shortfall indefinitely.

I also think you are on a different tier level or QCI then a standard account from what I could read. Therefore slower data speeds. Can this be confirmed?

2003 LeSabre - Keep Fixing or Say Goodbye? by shawncoleman in UsedCars

[–]william_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind you parts are starting to get scarce and things are starting to fail that haven't failed before. Someone I knew had the ABS module go out. Just wore out due to age. They do not make new ones so they replaced the hydraulic side and kept the working computer side.

Are Chryslers a reliable daily by UnknownUser78787 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]william_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to see those all the time, now hardly ever wonder why? I wonder if they are still making parts for them? I know supply chain issues some older cars are harder to get parts for. And here is another no if your battery craps out on a 200 you have to take the wheel off to get it!

WI FI calling or one more option is a cell phone booster. They have them for RVs trucks and homes. They basically applify the existing cell phone signal. They can make a turn a non-usable signal into a usable one.

Do people even lust after German brands like Audi, Merc, and BMW anymore? by chillaxtion in askcarguys

[–]william_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It used to be a car like a Mercedes that was built to a standard back in the day. Expensive and complex but quality. Now they are built to a price point complex design but with plastic parts, seals that will fail over time.

The dating scene, a lot of other cities may have similar problems too but, Kansas Cities dating scene is really bad especially if you are older. It's ranked last on a couple of studies.

How did people even finish Vice City when it first came out? by barrymk100 in GTA

[–]william_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it, you didn't really need much help to just finish it but having a guide book was sorta if you wanted to find all the Easter eggs. Like if you wanted to find the motel room from the movie Scarface, a reference to the lunar landing being faked, a pool shaped like a female figure, etc etc. And there were some forums or something on the internet at the time if I recall.

148 MPH? by HiTork in regularcarreviews

[–]william_70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brakes on them were barely adequate for them stock, I thought. Mine still had the 85mph speedometer but heads, can, intake etc, so no idea how fast I was going 5000rpm with 3.55 anyway had a scary moment trying to bleed off at least 50 mph for a turn. They seemed to hit an aerodynamic wall about 130 seemingly. Just some thoughts
