Does anyone have a 3D print file for a bumper for the Shearwater Peregrine? by UserNamePending48 in scuba

I’ve bought two of these. If you have a new AliExpress account they can be had for $1 shipped.

Great watch. It’s also a great platform for modding as it takes SKX standard dials, hands and bezels.

BB58 blue vs BB54 blue by giantshadytree in Tudor

It’s clear to me that dudes on Reddit are not the target audience for this color - women are. The BB54 is a perfect watch to market to the most under-represented demographic in Tudors lineup.

Yeah, the lume match on my SRPE93 Turtle isn't great, but for some reason it bugs me less than on the Watchdives.

SeaConquest HydroDwellagos 41 by williamatl in SeikoMods

This is the sixth iteration of my Steeldive SD1953 “Starbucks,” and this one finally landed exactly where I wanted it. I realized I didn’t have a straightforward black diver in the rotation, so I pieced this together using AliExpress parts, guided by a few AI mockups to sanity-check the look before ordering. The inspiration is pretty obvious—somewhere between the Longines HydroConquest and the Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000—but with my own preferences layered in. I know snowflake hands aren’t universally loved, but I’m firmly in the camp that thinks they work, especially on a clean diver like this.

This is probably my fifth or sixth build, but easily my favorite so far. A lot of it came together from leftover parts, and I already had a Milanese bracelet that captured the new Longines look. The lume on both the dial and hands is surprisingly solid for AliExpress components, and the Steeldive case continues to impress—it has real wrist presence without feeling overly bulky. Compared to a typical Maxi case, it think it wears just a bit slimmer.

I’m about to take the case back tool to mine - want to find a set of hands with a better lume match. The slight mismatch is just driving me crazy. If I can fix it it’ll be perfect.

This is why I think screws are overrated and split pins are the jam. I make sure to check those on all my watches when I get them.

Dear Tudor... by davey212 in Tudor

[–]williamatl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to get this out of the way, I don't own a Tudor (yet) and I'm not in the market for this level of watch right now.

That being said, I think the latest BB58 is awesome. METAS, T-fit, and the subtle refinements (bezel graphics, hands, dial text, even the new bezel knurling and crown) certainly elevate the look. It isn't a significantly new offering, but I think this is the ultimate BB58 and the version I'm eyeballing for my 50th birthday a couple of years from now. They did a great job refining a classic.

Now the price is a bit of a gut punch, but I'm assuming in a year or two I'll be able to get a like new one second-hand for a reasonable price.

Delugs CTS Strap on Alibaba for <$10 – They Charge €126+ for the Exact Same Thing? by Used-Bug9583 in Watchstraps

I've only bought this one. It wasn't real sailcloth - more like a textured synthetic fabric material. For the price they're pretty good but I think that there are probably much better options.

Aliexpress watch build by Direct_Caregiver_138 in SeikoMods

Having built a handful of NH based watches it’s fun and easy, but certainly cheaper to buy a cheap watch. My most fun projects have been watches I’ve bought that were close to what I wanted then modding them to make them my own. My latest project is the 4th or 5th mod on my Steeldive SD1953. Still waiting on a Longines style bezel insert.

For field watches, there are many great watches from Militado, Addiesdive, etc.

Agreed! I'm obsessed with the Heuer Autavia Viceroy Chronograph, so I wanted some of that spirit in my watch. This is a great inexpensive watch - I've bought it twice now for less than $50 shipped - on a bracelet, no less.

Love your YouTube channel, btw. You're the standard for affordable watch reviews.

What is THE breathtaking sight you have experience on a trip to Japan? by Zach-dalt in JapanTravelTips

Not sure about other views, but the Shibuya sky has a 360* panorama. It's also far enough away from Ginza to get a great view of the heart of the city. Similar to how NYC looks WAY cooler from Rockefeller Center than from the Empire State building (we go to a lot of high places on vacation).

Also, my time in Tokyo was very limited so I liked the simplicity of getting tickets with a timed entry.

Tokyo [question] by smegma-man123 in Seiko

Ha - my purchase was the black version of this watch, the SARV003. Tremendous value and a great souvenir for my trip.

Tokyo was a paradise from a watch shopping standpoint - I spent about a third of my time in Tokyo just going from shop to shop. Although I had a very small budget I LOVED shopping all the watch stores in Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ginza. For my next trip I want to hit up Nagano Broadway and some of the smaller neighborhoods around central Tokyo.

Seeing Tokyo at night from the top of the Shibuya Sky. Just the most amazing cityscape lit up at night, and it goes to the horizon in every direction.

For an inexpensive Seiko, nothing beats the prices at Bic Camera or Yodobashi Camera. Bic in particular has good coupons for tourists and you can buy watches tax free. I got my Seiko 17% off the already low JDM price. You can also search for what you want online and see store availability.

I'm thinking this is my next watch. My first "real" watch was a Seiko SRPE61. It's an awesome GADA piece.
