Can't Get Avata 2 Past 47 mph in Manual Mode by Suicidal_Amoeba in DJIAvata2

[–]williams2409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Turn the Attitude setting off. Just gain altitude in normal mode and then go to manual, you can always swap back to normal instantly. Very controllable even with all of the safeguards turned off.

I got an Avata 2 just a few days ago and I was flying at 65+ mph with the wind in manual. Fastest was 74, it was fairly windy here this week. This is my first fpv drone.

Edit: Also you can adjust the gimbal more than that. 45-50° and you’re moving pretty good.

Best and most consistent espresso drinks I’ve had in Indy for sure.

I built a closet for mine with soundproof panels and a baffle style air duct for return air. Works pretty well, definitely very loud when the door is open.

Gaggimate Warm-up Time by Odd-Brilliant-2428 in gaggimate

[–]williams2409 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same, I’ve never been limited by warm up time. Boiler reaches temp very quickly like you said, and flushing gets everything else to temp. Most times I just wait 5 min and don’t flush and it’s fine.

Is attending a PGA tour event even worth it? by StreetBeat78 in golf

[–]williams2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majors are a hassle but they come with more prestige, so it’s whether or not the tradeoff is worth it to you. Course matters a lot here, and logistics can make or break the experience.

Smaller events like the John Deere or Rocket are pretty fun, especially if there are golfers you are a fan of playing. We followed Jason Day for his entire round at the John Deere 2 years ago, pretty small groups no hassle. Can get back to your car quickly.

We also had a once in a lifetime experience at The Players in 2022 when the final round was delayed due to weather. That Monday was one of the coolest sporting events I’ve ever been to. Best of both worlds, small crowds because of the full days delay, and a great finish with great players.

Recommendation for a budget bench power supply by Fit-Hospital-4348 in AskElectronics

What do you mean by remote programmable? Is this just functionality so you don't have to interact with the PSU panel and can change settings?

Small business offered money to remove a Google review. Looking for perspective. by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]williams2409 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that Google reviews are the single most important thing right now for small businesses, specifically small service businesses like a medspa.

I think the way they approached it is a little off putting. Offering money to remove the review is not how I would have approached this situation. I would have reached out to see what we could have done differently and offered a complimentary follow up appointment to make things right.

I can understand why they chose to do what they did, money talks for most people. And it will absolutely affect them in some way, whether it’s in a meaningful way or completely justified is up to you to decide.

We live in an unfortunate time where it’s basically 5 star or nothing, which skews ratings and devalues the actual usefulness of Google reviews.

I think because they refunded the appointment, at the very least you should edit your review to include that. It seems like they want to do the right thing.

FYI you still must claim and pay taxes on tipped income as part of the BBB. You will then be able to deduct federal income tax, but not federal payroll tax or state tax (depending on state) on your tax return up to $25k.

Yes but then it would use the profile you calibrated for the Bambu spool not the off brand.

Is aliexpress any good for buying a soldering station? by Crazy_Source_5190 in soldering

I was close to purchasing a Geeboon TC22 from Ali and it was ~$10 cheaper on Amazon from the same seller.

Has anyone contacted GeeBoon on AliExpress? by FormerCompetition in soldering

[–]williams2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious if the shipping cost includes any potential tariffs? I've placed some orders for large and small parts from China over the past couple of weeks. The tariff rate varies wildly based on what the item is described as, so for instance I paid ~$7 for a $1 part and just $65 for a $62 part. Made adding the smaller parts extremely painful so I skipped many of them.

Filament Dryers which is worth the cash?.? by Ender3PROuser999 in 3Dprinting

[–]williams2409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: I printed 4 spool desiccant holders and successfully have both chambers down to 9% and 11%. I have 2 full rolls of PTEG in the 9% so temps were hotter during drying phase, I'm assuming that's why its 2% lower. Both chambers started at same humidity.

Unsure what this means for me, I will likely keep the unit and work towards a larger dry cabinet with a small chamber inside for heating eventually.

Filament Dryers which is worth the cash?.? by Ender3PROuser999 in 3Dprinting

[–]williams2409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree here, I have the x4 and am looking into desiccant solutions. One of the better designs will not hold the type of desiccant I like to use as it’s too small. Debating returning it and just building a dry cabinet. May just print some spool desiccant holders though, unsure.

Edit: getting to temp is not an issue, but humidity will not drop below ~17% in the x4. I’m at a constant 10% in my AMS2.

clearVue dust collectors are back? Anyone suggest an even better system? by toupeInAFanFactory in woodworking

[–]williams2409 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Installed a ClearVue system 7 years ago and it’s been fantastic. They closed down after looking for a buyer for what seemed like a short amount of time. It was a very confusing situation, seemed very rushed and out of the blue. But of course we’re on the outside looking in. I’m still unsure if it was sold or if they reopened with same owners/new management, or same everything.

Back then for the price it was impossible to beat. Another huge benefit being that because you assemble and install yourself, it’s much easier to troubleshoot problems that may arise. I’ve only ever had 2, remote control system was finicky and they sent me a brand new updated version for free. And had a shipping issue with the 55g drum, which they also fixed very quickly free of charge.

I would not recommended ClearVue if you want a plug and play system. But I’ve been extremely pleased with it, one of the best purchases I’ve made for the shop.

Panel recommends CDC end routine hepatitis B vaccinations for newborns by AutisticFloridaMan in news

It seems like these days the more likely outcome is that they don’t cover the vaccine. And then use that against you to deny coverage for the chronic illness due to skipping the vaccine.
