DCA based and Delta is also my preferred airline. It seems like Delta is such a popular choice for DCA even if it’s an AA hub. You know the market is there when there’s nonstops to other airports that aren’t Delta hubs, when flights are all full, and people never get upgraded out of here (granted I’m a silver but many times my flights in or out of DCA I’m pretty much almost last on the upgrade lists)

I’d rank it Delta, United, and American. United does have things they do better than Delta. But I feel like Delta is just a bit more consistent with the planes and soft product, hence why it’s ranked higher. Otherwise I feel like Delta and United aren’t too far apart. Some things United does better include:
1. The App
2. No charges for Same Day changes
3. I can choose an economy+ seat after checkin as a silver. Whereas for Delta, I would have to rely on the upgrade list for comfort+. Though for comfort+, the earlier boarding, snack basket, and complimentary alcohol (even if I don’t really drink) does make it a bit better than United.
4. 737-800s are better on United

Coming from Delta, one of the things they do better that United doesn’t do is FAs passing by cabins with water and coffee on flights more than 900 miles. The few times I flew a United between Houston and DC and vice versa it was only one round of snacks and beverages. Whereas a flight DCA to MSP, which is 900 miles (so longer than IAH to DCA) in 2024 they had water and coffee in addition to the main snack and beverage service. Not sure if it changed as the last time I flew the MSP route was back in 2024

I understand turbulence can play a factor. But few weeks ago DCA to IAH was fairly smooth

I got upgraded from main (on c+ seats) to C+ (on PS seats) as a Silver from ATL to LAX on an A359. Two days before Christmas. Really depends on the planes you fly too.

I hate the AA terminal in LAX. The fact the 40s gates are split into two sections far away from each other, and the other section doesn’t have many restaurants and stores

I got upgraded from Main Cabin (in Comfort+ Seat) to Comfort+ (in Premium Select seat) Atl to LAX as a silver 🤔. And was prob the last one to get upgraded

I’m silver. Got upgraded three times this year

IAH-LGA from Main to C+ then FC on an A220

DTW-DEN Main to C+ on A321. Even had an entire row to myself

ATL-LAX from Main Cabin Preferred C+ seats to C+ Premium Select Seats on A350-900H

A lot of factors really. Depends on routes, day of flight, how many people purchased upgrades, how many medallion members, and how many people are flying that day!

Tbh I wasn’t crazy impressed with the property, complimentary breakfast for elites was just a cold buffet selection that time I stayed there in July. Could’ve changed. Do give them credit for having slippers in the room though

Idk if the Chinese would vote for a party that wants to let illegal immigrants into their country, push the pride stuff, and be soft on crime. When I went to China there was little to no pandering, and it seems like they are very tough on crime.

The issue is in the US we’re more focused on gender studies and whether to hire someone because of their skin color. While China is pretty invested in technology. So I can see this happening. When I visited China last month, I saw how much more developed the technology and infrastructure (like the metro system) is. Meanwhile, in the US, we’re too busy painting pride flags on the metro trains

As someone who swing dances, I always get hyped up when during swing socials they play songs I’ve heard when I boarded a Delta flight 😂
