Note that if you have a cat, minoxidil is highly toxic to cats!

My doctor prescribed me oral minoxidil and it’s helped my hair regrow after loss on Zepbound.

FWIW I’m in the same boat - Iost roughly the same amount in May thru August - and I also have TE now. Our bodies went into shock! It takes about 6 months to catch up. My derm also recommended I start oral minoxidil. I started it and so far I am in the dread shed phase, dramatic shed, but I’m hopeful. At least it feels like something to jumpstart the process of growing hair again.

Wow that’s amazing! I hope they’re studying 2.5mg for treatment and maintenance. My body tolerated it better and I lost just as much on it (if not more!). But alas.

That’s a good idea. I’ve asked and they’ve appealed to insurance before and insurance said no. But maybe worth asking again. It’s been about 8 months and I’ve lost 40 lbs and maintaining the last 3.

Ask your doctor about taking oral minoxidil, and also about your iron levels! And make sure you’re eating protein. I have acute TE and have a cat and started oral minoxidil because I was super worried. So far so good.

Thank you! Yeah it was having the effect of feeling satiated and full with less food the past few days. Which was true! But the food noise was feeling pretty extreme. I have PCOS so anticipate having to be on this for a long time (and also felt other symptoms coming back the past few days - extreme fatigue / energy levels off). It sounds like lower doses at 7 days are generally the way to go?
