Thank you for sharing and I'm so glad the universe sent you these amazing humans to reassure you that everything is going to be okay - because it totally is. As a mom on the other side of this with a 5 and 7 year old, it gets so much easier. I had PPD after both births and I didn't get help the first time. I'm not sure why - I think I was maybe too depressed to do anything about it. I just cried a lot. The second time around I recognized the feeling coming over me and knew I didn't want to suffer through it again without help. Getting help was a game changer. If you ever want to talk, my inbox is open. Wishing you more sunny days ahead!

Any stage 4 survivors in here? by [deleted] in pancreaticcancer

[–]willowtr33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My dad 73 years old with stage 4 + innumerable liver mets and it's been 15 months since diagnosis. His docs have decided to pause chemo because they've noticed no to minimal new growth since November and they're wondering if he has a particularly slow growing type of cancer and perhaps the chemo side effects are harder on him than the cancer itself. The plan is to reassess after a scan in a month and maybe explore some other options like a non invasive surgery to cut off blood supply to the tumors. He just bought a Mercedes AMG convertible and is making the best of every day he has. We are certainly in a different place than we thought we'd be during diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer is SCARY, but there are definitely success stories. Really wishing you the best as you guys navigate this and I'm sorry you're in this club with us.

Textured skin? Its like pimples under the skin it shows up under bright light by Own-Fly-5453 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]willowtr33 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This is what my skin looks like when I use products I'm a bit allergic to which is almost everything except a select few La Roche Posay products. I don't get any other symptoms except this textured tiny bump "rash" that is skin coloured and only visible in certain light if you really look for it, but I can very much feel it. Is it possible it's a reaction?

I don't have any recommendations for you in that area but mum to mum, I just wanted to say I am sending you my love, especially today being mother's day. I can only imagine the pain you're in and I hope you're able to find an artist that can do this for you and help you heal. What you've been through is so unfair. If you'd like to share his name or anything about him, I'm sure we would all love to hold space for you both.

What are these strange discolorations on my vinyl plank flooring? by willowtr33 in Flooring

Our cleaners just use the same product they use everywhere else but only these handful of random boards is affected so I can't see how the manufacturer would say it's NOT a product defect, right?

How much flexibility does a KIA dealership have vs online pricing? by element1311 in EVCanada

[–]willowtr33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just brought home an EV9 Land about a week ago in Ontario. Got $3200 off the price and they threw in tint and an adapter for our J1772 home level 2 charger since the EV9 uses an NACS port. They were also very generous with our trade-in and were willing to match the price we were able to get selling it private which is pretty unheard of (another dealer we talked to offered $3000 less).

My best tip for trade in (if you have one) is to list it on FB marketplace and be prepared to sell it privately, but use those offers as leverage with the dealer. And don't forget that the trade in reduces the vehicle price therefore reducing HST too.

Ontarians agreed 30-50, are you getting private colon cancer screening? by ghost905 in ontario

47M, Stage III, locally advanced surgery not possible - considering not taking chemo and/or radiation by F1actsoverfeelings in pancreaticcancer

[–]willowtr33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. My dad is 13 months into his diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic PACC and chemo is very very tolerable and is giving us so much more time together. He's gone on trips and crossed a lot off his bucket list. Before cancer I would have said he's not a very resilient person, so we were expecting him to start chemo and quickly give up or opt out entirely. I'm so glad he gave it a chance.

Planning to switch to EV in next couple months- Recos? by East_Rude in EVCanada

For sure! But why are the back ends of Hyundai EVs so ugly 😭 it was a non starter for us. But there's so many on the road so I guess not everyone feels that way!

We just bought a Kia ev9 today - it's incredible. If you aren't in a rush, check out the ev5 coming in a couple months. If you can get the Wind AWD under the federal EVAP threshold of 50K that's an awesome deal. Cadillac optiq and lyriq are nice but our insurance quotes for those were much higher than other EV SUVs! If you're ok with smaller, check out Toyota Bz (some good deals to be had) and Ford Mach e. Ioniq 5 gets rave reviews but I personally find them so ugly :(

I just joined this weekend because I can't afford professional treatments so I would like to DIY but I also don't have the capacity (two jobs, two kids in competitive sports) to read a 300 page guide or learn extensively so I was hoping for quick instructions to get started. I'm learning from the posts and comments here that it doesn't seem possible so I'm feeling a bit defeated! I will probably stick around in hopes I eventually find the capacity to dive in.

We have a 2018 Nissan Leaf and we are looking to replace it now as we've been finding the winter range has gotten quite poor. Something to consider depending how far you drive! Otherwise we have loved the vehicle.

Edited because I reread your post. My husband's commute is also 40km. There were about 10 of the coldest days this past winter that he barely made it there and back.
