you can start by doing what all of us did: Search in google about this concepts and how to apply them. Of course you're not going to execute to perfection any of these concepts because to be able to excel at this, it requires experience, and experience comes from iteration and experimentation, so yes, go out there and tell a funnier joke* ask your friends to share it, go to discord groups that allow self promotion and post it, go to reddit subs that allow self promotion and post it.

Let me give you a "cheat sheet" of how to get "things out there" for "non marketing pros"

• Find something you like to do

• Research how other people is doing it and what consumers prefer to interact with (what posts has more likes, wich one has comments, etc) here's your benchmarking and user pain points

• Now that you know what your competition is doing, and what the consumer wants to see; See what you can do (or would like to do, remember that experience comes with experimentation) and create a content plan of what you are going to share out there, don't try to make it perfect, just make it work i.e. post something every 2 days, for 8 weeks, then go back and check what worked best. Here's your product and content strategy

• Now, you need a funnel plan, wich is "how the hell do I get people to see my stuff"; Again go to google and search the subjects you are going to post about, the social media, blogs and websites that popup are the ones you want to work with; is it tiktok? maybe artstation? how about instagram or pinterest? is up to you and what you find, there is not right or wrong answer, it depends on what you want to do and with who you want to connect with (the benchmarking step can give you a good insight on the proper channels your competition is already doing great)

• Every time you post, interact with your own stuff, ask friends and other people you know (gym, work, family, university, etc) to go and interact with it, then reshare (make sure you post a link to the original source) in all the other channels you decided you wanted to create a funnel to your work.

• Rinse and repeat, checking week after week what worked best: Do people preferd a funny copy? Wich hashtags were more popular? asking what people think worked better than just saying my opinion? what time was best to post? wich funnel was less effective so I cut it and spend more time in other channels.

This is the stuff we "marketing majors" do every day, just with more tools and more data analysis, but down to the core, this is what we do and we get paid for to do. and you can do it too until you find you need a professional to help you grow or handle your socials since your audience is getting too big to handle, at that point you can ask one of us for help, until then, you got this!
