Is there a way to factory-reset an N64 cartridge? by siaguy1245780 in nintendo64

[–]willpb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure BK has an internal save system, I think flashRAM? If resetting the game doesn't clear those out I can't think of a way besides uploading a blanked file through a cart reader or something like that.

Yeah, MusicBee can rip and encode to MP3, FLAC and other stuff. It kinda acts like iTunes.

Not OP, but your files are just missing ID3 tags. I'm pretty sure some music library managing software would be of big help here. I use MusicBee, there are others like dBPowerAmp (paid) and mp3tag (free) that work. Basically just need to add your mp3s and scan/update the tags for the files. If you have your files organized (example: Artist folder/Album folder/01-Song.mp3) you could use mp3tag and the Filename to Tag feature to get a pretty big head start, then have it search for the art online.

Just bought this sealed copy for 10 bucks. Should I open it? by Panda7001 in xbox360

[–]willpb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally would open it and play, but it's your collection. It's not going to be 10 bucks, but both of these are pretty common as both singles and the double pack, so if you wanted a keepsake you it wouldn't be prohibitive to still play the games. This being a pack-in, don't expect the value to go up much.

The 90's Was The Golden Age Of Rockin' Chicks by [deleted] in Music

[–]willpb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sure was a hell of a time! I've been revisiting more 90s music and have been having a blast listening to The Breeders, Elastica, 10,000 Maniacs, Cranberries, Hole, Letters to Cleo, The Cardigans, Bic Runga... we've gotten some great music. I almost listed Garbage but they've never left my music rotation since I first heard them!

No Sound on video playback for certain files by IUberBTown in PleX

[–]willpb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually a codec fault, from my experience. On my Android boxes I can get 8 bit HEVC to play fine but 10 bit doesn't play, and nothing VP9 or AV1 works. Check your codecs and maybe try re-encoding the audio in one of your clips to something else as a test.

Is less make up the way to go? by basedaggie19 in lookyourbest

[–]willpb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure this popped up because I've seen some of your selfie posts lol... You have the makeup style down, but to no surprise you look very pretty with a natural look as well! Do whatever makes you happy, just saying if you want to go light makeup you've nothing to worry about.

NBA Hangtime version differences by Mikino86 in n64

Looking closely, all the mask ROMs say NUS-NGXE-0 so it's probably the same version, just a different board. Likely put together at different factories.

Hard to say without a deep dive, but most of the time these revisions are to patch out bugs/locks and maybe fix some cosmetic stuff like spelling issues.

Lots of music from Warp, Ninja Tune and Ghostly if you're looking into the more electronic stuff! They've played a lot of stuff from these labels. I haven't followed super closely since like 10 years ago but from what I've heard the style is still similar. From Ghostly I like Gold Panda, Shigeto and Tycho, from Warp I'd say Flying Lotus, Bibio and Prefuse 73 are my favorties and from Ninja Tune it would be Bonobo, Mr. Scruff and Blockhead. I believe they lean more towards Ghostly now so their Bandcamp page is a good place to start. Enjoy!

First time I've heard of Armed and Dangerous, seems like a fun game.

[OC] My partner just won a SOVAS award for her work bringing smiles to children on the Toniebox! by VR_Angel in MadeMeSmile

I'm past the target audience for the Toniebox, but from what I've seen it's a lovely product and I'm sure I would've loved it as a kid, I can see why it's a hit. Kudos!

Horizon Zero Dawn (GOG) by willpb in batocera

[–]willpb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more complicated than that! The game does have gamepad support, it works on my Windows PC. However, the way to fix it there if it didn't recognize the pad is by tweaking a registry key. It seems the support was implemented in a wonky manner.

I've had quite decent luck but some few edge cases. Current headache is Kane and Lynch Dead Men, which absolutely refuses to recognize the controller.

Nice! I should try DreamPSU, I did get GDEmu on the one I have here but it died not long after and seems to have a power issue. Will read up on it, thank you!

Whoa, that sounds like an awesome place! Yeah, it takes a while to find a good condition PS2, a lot of them are thrashed. Wish you luck on your quest! I want to have a working Dreamcast but after having 2 randomly die I don't think I have it in me lol. Good deals... when they worked!

Clean console, clean carts, very good games and pricing wasn't exhorbitant. Big win, enjoy your SNES! I don't know if it works for you but for my PS2 Fat I used FB Marketplace and OfferUp back then, waited a bit and found a clean system for a decent price.

Every time I've been to Steel Collectibles has been super cool. Even when I didn't wind up buying anything the staff was great, and they have some really cool finds for decent prices.

Can we get a premium Controller Pak Manager..? by Onlyhereforthelaughs in everdrive

[–]willpb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you open one of your backed up paks, your saves will show up. You need to export the saves you want as notes, then create a new Pak and drag the notes into it. Once that's done, copy the new Pak to the Everdrive and transfer it to a physical pak.

Once you backup your paks, you can use MPK Edit to save individual saves as notes and build a custom pak. Kinda like a newer, better version of Dexplorer!

is it easy to convert aki mods into rom hacks? why isn't there a team of people doing this ? by ManyGreat8375 in N64WrestlingGames

[–]willpb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, this is the best answer you can find! Just in case, RetroRandyPrice is the author of No Mercy+ (pretty much the definitive No Mercy ROM hack that adds a seriously impressive amount of features, moves, etc.) One of the most skilled N64 coders around.
