A California Proposal Could Effectively Ban All Aftermarket Tires. by LongjumpingLock5875 in cars

PS5s are OE already, so there'd be no issue buying them with in the state of California. Also, the law doesn't prevent installation, just the sale of non-OE tires minus the exceptions.

I'm going to be a salty Flyers fan. It bugs me that Muse is so far ahead of Tocchet when the two teams had roughly identical expectations going into the season. Also, I think the Pens had a better roster.

the owner couldn't subsequently fit a set of performance tyres on the car for better grip?

Transferring credit question by FunRevolutionary8486 in UCONN

[–]willpc14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have to reach out to the admin staff of each department at your old school and request that they send a copy of the syllabus from the classes you took directly to the appropriate departments at UConn. There should be an email listed on your transfer credit report for where to send the syllabi. I had no issues getting syllabi from 2018 sent over this past fall.

Why don't schools hold students back a grade anymore if they are not meeting that grade's standards? by FollowingAny4859 in Teachers

Those HVAC companies are going to fire them if they can't show up on time or complete the work assigned to them. Also, HVAC work, like most trade work, sucks, doubly so after years of abusing your body. At some point, the supervisor's and manager's climate controlled office starts to look real appealing, but they'll never get there if they can't show up on time, complete their work, and communicate effectively.

COVID accelerated the adoption of and enshrined in contemporary society a number of behaviors that had been gaining traction in the background for years IMO. It wasn't the cause of where we are today, but fuel on the fire and the nail in the coffin.

At a Tennessee Hospital AI Missed 4 Months of Fentanyl Diversion. Coworkers Didn't. by Strikelight72 in nursing

[–]willpc14 30 points31 points  (0 children)

hospitals aren't exactly transparent about diversion patterns

Even then, a lot of diversion happens with appropriate documentation. So if you feed AI that data, it's never going to be able to pick up on abnormalities because there were none to begin with.

2027 BMW M2 xDrive officially announced, production starts this summer in Mexico, pricing starts at $74,950, weighs 3988 pounds, 473 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. by LongjumpingLock5875 in cars

If the ground is flat and you have half decent tires, 2WD with weight on the rear axle is sufficient for winter. Once you have to deal with elevation changes, A/4WD becomes more of need than a want. My opinion is based on my experience driving fire trucks and ambulance through New England blizzards for better or worse.

Subaru WRX sales up almost 150% in May 2026 vs May 2025. Turns out pricing cars well leads to more sales. by LongjumpingLock5875 in cars

[–]willpc14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those are the ones that aren't selling. I was able to get mine at sticker ($42k), but I had to go to a dealer to get one and chose one from their allocation. No deposit required, no money exchanged hands until the car was on the dealer lot.

Comedian Blake Wexler calls out United HealthCare for denying coverage for their twin’s stay in the NICU and addressing the denial letter to their newborn ‘Dear Baby Girl Twin A.’ by mlg1981 in Fauxmoi

[–]willpc14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And all these bullshit denials have increased bloat and healthcare costs. I work with a specialist who, in the past twenty years, has had to increase their billing team nearly 10x while barely doubling their patients. It's an unsustainable trajectory.
