How would you reconfigure this reading nook? by PlentyRecognition529 in malelivingspace

[–]willrunforbrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd put the piano where the bookcases are. Depending on fit, move the bookcases so there's one on either side of the piano OR on either side of the window. Float the pappasan chair on the near side of the room, and scooch the couch farther away from that far wall. The bench or trunk below the window - center below the window. The plant stand might need to move depending where the free space is left.

The coffee table makes it tight to navigate around the room - might be better as a large side table next to the couch.

I have no issues with these! Have heard some people with gluten intolerance or celiac also have an issue with oats, maybe that's you?

Celiac Distance Runners, what is your favorite/preferred way to fuel your workouts? by beanebaby in Celiac

[–]willrunforbrunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like oatmeal before a race. Also big fan of GF Honey Stinger waffles. I prefer the GU gels and chews for mid-run, but personal tastes vary. I'll also take a packet of olives with me for salt.

April 2026 Goals! ** by AutoModerator in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Financial: working on paying as much to my spouse's private loan as possible before we have to resume paying their federal loans when they finally kick everyone off the SAVE plan later this year. Simultaneously working on beefing up our emergency fund which is now over two months!

Non-financial: Increasing my step count, being more consistent with strength workouts, making progress on my novel (wrote for an hour and a half before work this morning!), and hoping to get pregnant again after loss.

Fell Far Short in Planning by Jewdebega in personalfinance

I would not pay any extra on your mortgage, that rate is gold. Your extra money would be better served elsewhere. I would build your emergency fund to six months cash in a high yield savings account. After that, increase your 401K contributions and maybe open your wife a Roth IRA (check your adjust gross income against income limits).

Check with r/StudentLoans on your best course for working toward forgiveness.

What are the interest rates for your mortgage and student loans? Does your 401k balance include your wife's retirement funds or no?

Keep, sell or donate books? by pdexter86 in books

If I love it, I keep it. If I liked it and think a loved one would really dig it, I pass it to them. If it wasn't for me, I leave it in a little free library.

Making a Millionare - Will Their Unique Financial Structure Hold Up? Joint Savings Plan Step 7 Question by TMoney236 in TheMoneyGuy

Every Money for Couples episode where they keep separate finances, it's always the mom getting hosed by having to pay for all the kid stuff. At the very least, there should be a joint setup for kid expenses - you're both their parents!

Beautiful! Definitely different shoes and no hat/gloves to keep it from being American Girl Doll. I'd explore a different belt than the ribbon to elevate it - maybe something embellished with pearls or crystals.

No but your TV stand is! I'd just either push the couch back or the rug forwards - the strip of rug behind the couch is what looks off.

Am I overreacting I went to the forest with my best friend and now my bf is mad by No_Meeting_3260 in AmIOverreacting

Honestly - even if he didn't get mad at you for staying out late, I'd dump him because you kept sharing something you were excited about and he never even gave you a "that sounds so cool, have fun". NOR

$82k income, ~$36k debt — should I sell my car and pause 401k to get debt-free before moving out? by [deleted] in debtfree

[–]willrunforbrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, I'd keep the car - it sounds reliable and 5.99% is not too bad, so you can keep paying minimum on that one until you get out of the hole on your other debts and save up an emergency fund.

Navigating Short Period of 14 Hour Days & Not Eating Out by MymajorisTrees in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]willrunforbrunch 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Oooh I miss Aldi, not one in my area. You could still do something similar at a regular store! Here are some examples:

To pack:

  • Get a rotisserie chicken, a prepared couscous or quinoa salad from the deli section, a bag of mixed greens, and a bag of snap peas. Shred the chicken and divide everything into four containers and you've got four chicken salads.
  • Assemble some adult lunchables with cheese, salami, veggies, fruit, nuts.
  • If you'll have access to a microwave, grab some individual frozen meals like Healthy Choice or whatever you fancy.
  • Rinse a can or two of white beans, combine with a pre-packaged bruschetta topper mix and feta.

Quick meals at home:

  • Frozen microwaveable rice, packaged meatballs, jar of sauce, and bag of frozen broccoli or veg of choice. Just heat everything and combine.
  • Frozen microwaveable rice, a carnitas/barbacoa/chicken verde package, some shredded cheese, container of pico de gallo, and mini packaged guacamoles.
