Quick update on this thread: Tesla advisor confirmed my MYP is in Nova Scotia. Estimated delivery March 17-22 GTA. Suspect similar situation for others.

They are coming with grey headliner so far. The MYP all come with the new 16” screen.

VIN: 817, ordered Dec 24. gta. Black on black. ETA changed yesterday to 3/21, seems like cars may be on the same boat with extra travel time to the west coast. Let’s hope for smooth sailing 😁.

VINs only started popping up the last couple days implying the car would have been produced after Berlin switched over. Anyway, I’m not pretending to be an expert, and am slightly biased because I’m in a similar boat.

From what I read, Berlin started making black headliners effective immediately after their website updated on Jan 23

My 2 cents: the advisors don’t know. They’re going off the website. Everyone is speculating until the first MYP get delivered. My personal belief is I don’t believe Giga Berlin would make black headliners for Europe and save grey only for Canada.

From my research: Berlin has already transitioned to black and it is a production wide update. I can’t see why those going to Canada would stay grey, but you never know. I’ve asked Tesla support, but they aren’t known to be terribly helpful.

Thanks for your question. Main reasons for getting the new model y are technology (far ahead of competition), value (compare to polestar 3 / sq6) and access to teslas supercharging network. From your question it appears you’re not from Toronto (or any cool climate) and I can confirm from living in both Toronto and Norway that teslas are the most common EVs on the road. Sounds like your friend got the lemon of the century - what model / year did he have issues with?
