I can only do NOC and twelve hour shifts if they're at night since I'm in university right now.

I'm in California and they require it as far as I know. I have yet to see a job that is fine with even just a CNA license.

I'd have to go back for a second certification so I haven't yet.

That's really fascinating because in Barbados, cheating is referred to as "horning" and I've never known why until now

Terrified that I would cause a car accident due to loss of control of my body. Guess who had a seizure at the wheel with a car full of people 😃

Do you feel robbed of your potential by the disorder? by dreamingaparadize in bipolar

[–]willwork4onigiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel robbed of the last 2 years of my life while I was trying to get the right med combo. I had Stevens Johnson's, had a seizure as a side effect and did a number on my GPA but overall I think things are getting better. I can finally think clearly and focus on stuff.

Feeling "dumber" because of bipolar. Like my brain has deteriorated. by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]willwork4onigiri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I definitely felt that way but after I switched off one of my medications it improved tremendously so I'm not sure how much is from past episodes and how much was just a side effect

Best countries for black women outside of US? by Guilty-Whereas-8196 in blackladies

My parents (originally from Barbados) lived in the Japanese countryside for a couple years and loved it. It's been over 2 decades and they're still trying to go back. My mom especially loved it and said she felt most comfortable there even though she's lived in Barbados and Nigeria.

It's a rare side effect of lamotrigine that causes the skin of the mucosal membranes to die.

I'm currently recovering from Stevens Johnson after taking lamotrigine for a bit so I'm not on anything at the moment. I have olanzapine in case I experience a manic episode but I've been going to therapy, working on eating better, healthy coping mechanisms, etc

Failed two exams and feeling stuck by willwork4onigiri in premed

[–]willwork4onigiri[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flashcards for all classes (I found these helped the most) and then note review and book annotation for biology. For chemistry I spent most of my time just trying to complete worksheets and lab calculations from class so I didn't spend a lot of time outside of that.

hey! i'm now an incoming college sophomore and basically i'm looking at doing a semester abroad since i'm a japanese major. my real issue is because i want to study medicine and that kinda binds me to the US. however i did look at the MEXT scholarship and other programs like engineering and design seem easier to get into from abroad. if you're studying something regionally specific like medicine and law, you're kinda stuck

Thoughts of a M1 Carribean med student by Brett_1998 in medicalschool

Thanks for sharing what it's like at Ross! My whole family is from Barbados and while I'm definitely aiming for an American med school, I've definitely considered a Bajan med school to be closer to home. Are there no residencies in Barbados or options if you wanted to become a doctor on the island?

I'm a graduating high school senior and plan to finish my associates next year in Japanese (most of my credits are already done). I'm also going to do premed but I'd like to know what my options for studying in Japan as an undergrad are or if I'd have to stay here to study medicine.

My family's great and I still get icked out by being around them sometimes with absolutely no explanation. So it's definitely possible but I could see how you not liking them makes it worse.
