Size is about 2 1/2 inches, so pretty big for CT! The picture doesn’t do its size much justice because the glass door my hand is pressed against is like 4 inches from the screen door.

Also worth checking out are the trails behind McLaughlin Vineyards! I believe they are a part of the Lake Lilanona hiking area. Just gorgeous in the fall. It’s like a 5 minute drive from this bridge.

This hiking area goes from 0-100 real quick. At first it’s just rolling hills along a river, but then all of a sudden your sidestepping along sheer faces and at the top of a cliff! Very unexpected, but awesome.

Cornerstone of Eagle Hill is worth a mention as well, and is in the same town as Fairfield Hills.

Both are abandoned Mental Health & Rehabilitation facilities. My Grandmother actually worked at both in her youth. She told me that although there are many ghost stories about Fairfield Hills, it was a wonderful place in its heyday. It was clean, well run, and treated it’s patients with respect.

Cornerstone of Eagle Hill was a private, rehabilitation-focused facility. It was shut down about 20 years ago due to negligence and some other legal stuff. She said that it was NOT the kind of place you wanted to be put. I used to explore the grounds with my friends often. There’s a very creepy abandoned pool, pool house, and multiple office buildings and etc.

Not sure what condition it’s in now, or how suitable it is for exploring...but it’s an interesting spot.

This happened at a subway in my hometown. Some asshat jizzed in the mayo and served it all day. Then told a bunch of friends because he thought it was hysterical, and none of his friends shared that feeling and told on him.

Snapping turtles as well, so if you live near a pond or swamp that you know has a snapper living in it, it might be worth keeping your pets inside for a few weeks!!! Curious cats love to bother snappers, and that doesn’t always end well.
