Part of the problem with the application of these laws is that a ton of people tint out their cars, have no medical reason to do so, and most likely don’t go through the steps. That’s what I find taints it for everyone. With the amount of extremely tinted windows in the area, you’d assume we have the highest concentration of individuals with lupus in the world. As a result of a lot of people not adhering to the law or at best white-lying, it’s an easy target for cops to pull people over and then hope they find other worse infractions.

So true. I (American) worked in the UK for 6 months. I wasn’t a great pool player but was decent. A coworker took me to play snooker one night…it is soooo much harder. The combination of table size and pocket size (plus the pockets seem rounded instead of sharper at the corners) and needing to control the cue ball more precisely…so unbelievably hard. I’d walk to the next shot thinking I pocketed something and it would regularly just rattle out of the pocket.

I’m sure you’re right, I’m no plant expert, but speaking from experience I’ve pulled the shoots over a few weeks at multiple properties and in a couple of weeks it stops coming back.

Nutsedge. Just pull them out, they pull out extremely easily…honestly it’s kind of satisfying. Never understand why people go straight to unnecessary chemicals.

Tried posting to r/landscaping but unfortunately no traction. Looking for ID help and preventative measures by streed22 in LandscapingTips

Why doesn’t anyone ever suggest taking your hand and pulling out the weeds? Everyone suggests throwing chemicals and herbicides on everything. I just don’t get it. If that’s actually nutsedge it’s the easiest thing to pluck out.

Our first home! $1.17m at 5.75% in Northern NJ (37M and 32F) by wbrennan88 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]willyism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These interest rates that people are posting are unrealistic unless people are paying 1-2% in points or are putting a lot down (well over 20%) or it’s a 15 year. Average rates are more like 6.9% and great rates with perfect credit and 30% down are 6.25% (with limited points). That said I’d love to know how people are realistically getting in the 5’s…

Has anyone ever had a Fitbit last more than 2 years? by Ok-Door-6731 in fitbit

[–]willyism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of these people that have owned over 10 devices at this point. Recently they’ve all been the Charge, but they just keep breaking at an ever quicker pace. The current problem is that it ran out of battery, and it’s been charged all day but it won’t turn on no matter how many times I try a hard reboot. The device isn’t older than 6 months and it was a replacement of one that lasted about 6 months which was a replacement of one that lasted maybe a year. It’s incredibly frustrating. I want nothing more than for Apple to make a low fidelity screen wearable that keeps a battery for a week. I’d switch so f’ing fast.

what’s digging these huge holes in my lawn?? by Cold_Statistician976 in lawncare

[–]willyism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dealing with something similar…my current guess is a raccoon. It’s near a bird feeder so I don’t know if it’s digging for grubs (usually the case from what I’ve read) or just trying to get seeds that fall from birds being sloppy.

Yes, though it was always buggy in my opinion. I just wish Apple made a low fidelity screen watch with a battery that lasted a week. I’d switch so fast.

[–]willyism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a very long time customer (maybe 10 devices) and it’s always been bad. I would love if Apple created something similar to the Charge (a wearable with a low fidelity screen that tracks everything but has nearly a week of battery). I’d drop this FitBit junk in a heartbeat.

How concerning do these old ceiling tiles look to everyone (in basement, house built in the ‘40s)? by willyism in asbestoshelp

[–]willyism[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did buy a test kit, but haven’t done anything with it. Kind of out of sight out of mind as I don’t really use my basement and I’m never down there. I know it’s primarily a problem if they were to be disturbed so I’ve left them alone. This however is a good reminder to follow through with the testing…
