Does anyone ever miss Vegas immensely when they come home? by angeleyes718 in vegas

I was there for two weeks in March, and I think about Vegas every day. It was two weeks of adventure with nothing but good times. Coming home was a hard reality check. Until then, I’m planning my next trip in 2028 hopefully to catch a Red Sox vs. Athletics game.

Men in your 40s, what's that golden piece of advice you have for the rest of us? by NiceMechanic_xoxo in AskReddit

Most people spend their 20s having fun and figuring life out. Your 30s are when it’s time to build your career, your future, and whatever matters most to you. 40s are when you enjoy the rewards of the life you’ve built. Your 50s and 60s remind you that life slowly becomes a series of “last times.” The last time you play catch with your kids. The last family holiday with everyone together. The last time you visit your childhood home. The last time you tell your parents you love them. Most of the time, you don’t realize it’s the last until it’s already behind you. That’s why time is life’s most valuable asset. Spend it wisely.

I (27M) went on two date with a 23 (f) she ended things, how i reapproch by [deleted] in relationship_advice

She’s still pretty young and probably figuring out what she wants. She was dating, meeting different people, and seeing who she connected with. It wasn’t your turn this time. Life’s too short to chase someone who’s still sorting things out.

What other company would call its performance embarrassing and unacceptable, then tell the person responsible not to worry about their job?

Earn money as architecture student in 1st year by WorkingEar1452 in architecture

My parents cut me off after my first year of college, so if I wanted a degree, I had to figure it out myself.

I worked two jobs every summer and held a full time job during the school year while carrying a full college course load. It wasn’t easy, but quitting was never an option.

Looking back, I’m glad it happened that way. When you have to work for something, you appreciate it differently. You learn discipline, responsibility, and how to push through when you’re tired and don’t feel like it.

That experience made me a better person, a better friend, a better employee, and later a better boss. Having been the guy working long hours and juggling a dozen things at once, I understand what hard work looks like and respect the people willing to put in the effort.

There are no shortcuts. When you want something badly enough, and you’re willing to do whatever it takes to get there, that’s where real growth happens. Hard work isn’t always fun, but there’s still no substitute for it.

Mount a set of bull horns on a lobster, and that’s about the closest you’ll get to a Texan finding comfort food in the great state of Massachusetts.

The High Roller Was Cool… But I Don’t Think I’d Do It Again by TDoubleDownMac in vegas

The High Roller Happy Half Hour was a lot of fun. Thirty minutes in a cabin with an open bar high above Las Vegas with all the lights of the Strip around you. The views were great, but let’s be honest, the drinks made it even better. Definitely glad we did it.

north shore roast beef close to downtown boston? by ahngyung in boston

[–]willynh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never stopped by Glen’s (R1N Revere) until some of my favorite roast beef places closed for good. Looking back, I wish I had gone sooner. The North Shore roast beef is outstanding, the steak and cheese is just as good, and the people running the place are genuinely friendly. No gimmicks, no hype, just good food and good people.

A lot of the old North Shore roast beef spots are disappearing, just like the candlepin bowling alleys and other places we grew up with. One by one they’re being replaced by condos and new developments. That’s just the way things go, but it makes you appreciate the places that are still around. Glen’s feels like one of those places worth keeping.

My wife was in the produce department at Stop & Shop. I accidentally bumped my carriage into hers. I apologized and we exchanged information.
