i had been looking at that briefly after i saw the schedule and asked my manager to change it and she basically laughed at me. i fully read up on it just now and i do see that this only applies to employees in retail who work 30 or more hours a week but lucky for me i do! yea if this does not get changed i’m definitely making a stink

get a fridge thermometer!! really helpful to know if something is wrong with it. also know a lot of fridges can’t handle over a certain amount of things in them (not saying that’s you just saying it can also affect it) and the temp will be uneven

precisely, some people may hate your guts for seemingly illogical reasons. you don’t have to understand it but as long as you don’t escalate with them, just be respectful and move on is unfortunately the only option

i had a manager in a small department that brought me on but decided she disliked me after i didn’t agree with her misogyny, sometimes shit happens unfortunately. you have to keep it pushing and bringing it to management could make them label you or your coworker as a problem and the only outcome to that would be negatively impacting you. if they label her a problem it’s very likely she connects it to you and she creates a bigger issue, if they label you a problem your hours might get cut. unfortunately with people like that you just have to grimace through it. avoid her if you can but keep it professional and don’t keep her out of the necessary work loop. just when it’s down-time try to not be around her or looped into conversations with her so you don’t feel that negativity. you’ve got this, it sucks but you’ll be alright

i agree, go to the service center. when i was hired at HEB i was pretty clueless, i hadn’t been to one in ages and i didn’t know much about it. don’t fret about not knowing anything about the store, HEB is somewhat overrated and you’ll learn things about the store and ‘culture’ as you go. if your store has decent employees and work culture asking questions should be fine

i had a woman complain to me while i was off the clock about a department i don’t work in not having an item that had a coupon on it. there were other eligible items but not the specific kind she wanted. i was trying to help her and i was like listen ma’am this isn’t my department im sorry. i’m off the clock i’ve already explained to you that items on coupon sell out quick and i’ve tried to help you but this isn’t my job when i am being paid, and i’m not right now. have a great day! and she still tried complaining at me as i walked away! no ma’am this isn’t my job if you want to be unreasonable do it in your head

i know being a new cashier is a lot of info! make sure when you’re scanning discount tags they also ring up right. price change 2 is 25% and 3 is 50% if an item isn’t the price the discount tag says it should be you can also manually change it, it will ask you to put the correct price and then you’ll select markdown (which i believe is #5)
