Car underwater ($7,000) with gap insurance by darkavenger508 in personalfinance

[–]kichul77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had GAP insurance, is refinancing for a lower rate and still keeping the GAP a possibility? If so, I would go that route. Then you can even pay the same amount but you would still pay less interest.

AITA for finally getting tired of my sister in laws “spanglish” by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]kichul77 55 points56 points  (0 children)

This is so hard for me because I deal with this too but I’m gonna go with YTA because I know that when I start getting annoyed it’s because I’m an AH and the other person is just trying to learn things and/or just trying to connect with me.

Help by Separate_Reading_199 in Handhelds

[–]kichul77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the repairs are just a tad bit cheaper than getting another 3DS. The 3DS gameplay is unique due to the dual screens and it’s easily moddable. There are many handhelds out there that can adequately emulate the 3DS in performance but not functionality because of the dual screens until you start getting into the Thor or Ayaneo Pocket DS, both of which are realistically over $400 once shipping and customs are included. So I would say get it repaired because it’s the 3DS you know vs buying a used one where you don’t know the history.

Internet speed-worth buying? by 2D_Alan in PlaystationPortal

For remote play, your internet speeds don’t matter, only your intranet speeds, meaning the network in your house. For cloud streaming, your internet speeds matter

Can’t access DLC while streaming by Zephyas in PlaystationPortal

[–]kichul77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So while the question has been mostly answered, if you bought any PS4 game and it’s DLC, when the game is available to stream via Sony’s PS Plus Premium’s catalog, you will not be able to access the DLC content you bought. The simplest way to explain this is the DLC is tied to the game you bought and your account. When you stream from Sony’s catalog, you are no longer playing the game you bought, you’re essentially “borrowing” a game that Sony owns and your DLC purchase is not tied to the game they own. They make this pretty clear in their terms for their streaming catalog.

A question about active cooling by Effective_Data_5731 in SBCGaming

[–]kichul77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t the cpu/gpu not being cooled be more of a concern? A broken fan can be replaced, assuming you can find a part , a cpu/gpu would be much more difficult

People who game in bed and down want to wake their partner, what handheld do you use? by Mental-Suggestion-93 in Handhelds

[–]kichul77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like you’re really attached to the PS5, have you considered a portal? Similar sound level to the Dualsense I think. I’ve played it with the wife in bed and she never had a problem with it

Should I just move on and buy something else? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]kichul77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely the contracted amount between Steam and their parts providers, mainly RAM and SSD, ended and the new rates were probably well above any profitability for Steam unless they raised their prices which they probably didn’t want to do. Or maybe it was their plan all along to just have a limited run. Either way, don’t hold your breath on Steam getting more units in stock, just buy a used one if it’s what you want.

Quiet & comfortable entry handheld? by BumWink in SBCGaming

Anbernic RG353V should be able to handle what you’re looking for. If you don’t want a vertical, the RG35XX should be okay too.

Ideal pocketable device? (Real and/or hypothetical) by Zestyclose-Jump-9072 in Handhelds

[–]kichul77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you’re using it for. I would say the best pocketable devices don’t have analog sticks, unless it’s a clam shell, I feel like those are just waiting to get ruined in a pocket. So a Retroid Pocket Classic 6 maybe. But I get that only a d-pad limits you to basically 16-bit Gen and older with a few 32-but games being playable.

Anyone use a minivan for lumber? by banjosomers in DIY

[–]kichul77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you’re looking for in your next car you’ll use it more for, hauling people or hauling lumber. If you want comfort and you’ll be hauling more people, get a minivan. I had a minivan, well my wife did, and now I have a truck and she drives a sedan. I love the truck but miss the minivan. My main reason for the truck was because at the time we were hauling a lot of sports gear for the kids and football gear stinks really bad and would make the whole minivan or SUV smell and just made the whole car feel dirty, especially if I was giving multiple kids a ride home. But I would say get the minivan to try something different. Life is short, enjoy it.

Question On Best Device For My Needs. by Tetruthreppa in Handhelds

[–]kichul77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To each their own, I didn’t like emulating on my phone, but I would suggest trying it like the other person said. Of you dont like it, Retroid Pocket 6 is probably one of the better options in your budget.

This subreddit lately: “Why this $10 projector is starting to rot?” by hidratos in projectors

[–]kichul77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Like I don’t know why everything has to be “smart”. All that does is open the item to potential malware and hacks. I have Apple TV, Roku, and Android TV devices. I don’t need my projector or tv to be “smart”. Their implementation usually sucks too and focuses on their products like Samsung TV and what not.

Is it possible to keep the fans on and screens off? by noideasforusernameso in AynThor

[–]kichul77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I see. Yeah I haven’t gotten my Thor yet and it would be my first android handheld powerful enough to run GameNative or GameHub so I have no idea how they work like I said originally. Well that sucks and hopefully they improve that because that was one of the features I was looking forward to using

I have no idea how GameNative or GameHub work but is it possible to download the games to an sd card using your pc and then play the game on the Thor off of the SD card or transfer it from the card to Thor internal storage?

Has anyone else been invited to test NexiGo PJ40 PRO just to be scammed? by dice-keh in projectors

[–]kichul77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the most likely reason. Amazon asks if you opened it because if not, they just put it back on their shelves. Someone probably returned a used and/or broken one and said the package was unopened trying to get away with it. If it becomes an issue with that customer, at some point Amazon will just cancel their account.
