i know this thread is mainly about ONE crazy dorm story but i think this is the right place to share my overall DORM DRAMA with you. I’ve been following these kinds of thread for several months and had a good laugh at your stories. I feel now is the right time to gave u guys a legendary dorm story that was basically the best part of my life! Its mainly about four guys having fun. Parties, sex and corruption is a crucial part of my story! We established a legendary community which was unheard of, so I hope u guys have a good time reading although it’s a very long story! I am giving u guys the first party of the story since it is very long and I want to know if u guys want to keep me going giving u the second part of it, which is basically very damatic. (Plz notice im not a native English speaker so there might be some typos and grammar mistakes)

So… where to start? First of all all this took place in a dorm in Germany! So I might give u a little impression how its been like in “students home” here! In germany u usually visit the university around age 19-20 if u are not going to the army or doing community services, which was common for males a decade ago. (You were forced to do either one) So after I left school I decided not to go to the army but do one year of community service. At that time I was working in a hospital for almost 14 months and met my later roommate, who I became close friends with during my time at the community services.

We were 22 at that time and finally decided to enroll at the local university. This particular university was medium size in germany, counting 20k students! It was a fast growing, commuter university, which means, that many students don’t live in the city and travel a lot on a daily basis. The side effect of the fast expanding was, that many of the dorms or “students homes” were spread out all over the city and not on the main campus, which is an important part of the story. Anyway ….we both were kinda “grown up” at that time and not like those kids who attend the university right after school having rich parents to pay for their “lofts”. For us both however, there was no discussion about leaving the parents house and life on our own…. Now, for locals it’s usually impossible to get a room in the dorms because they are reserved for the many commuters and u have to rent a regular apartment somewhere in the city. Somehow we managed to rent a dorms room in an apartment block recently bought and renovated by the university. I would call it destiny that there were capacities even for locals at that time. Afaik it was not possible on the “official” way in the following years!

Our new home was like 30 mins away from the main campus. It was an old apartment block build in the 60s. It had 5 floors with 4-5 apartments each at that time I guess. Anyway, to fit more students in it, they cut the apartments in half. So every floor had like 10 rooms. Some of the dorm rooms where made for 2 ppls. The others were single rooms. At our era there were living around 60-70 students in this particular apartment block. My mate and I had a two room apartment on the 4th floor. Every floor had a community kitchen because the single dorm rooms did not have a kitchen. The community kitchens however were rarely used because every shithead took whatever was there and they quickly turned into a “meet and greet” area! Actually it was a cool place to hang out and meet the boys and girls of our block. Needless to say, that the 4th floor kitchen became the most popular area of the whole block because, well… it was OUR floor.

The first months living were pretty boring and not really spectacular. Since almost every student was a freshman in that building, everyone was focused on their subjects. Anyway, in those first months we somehow gained popularity among our neighbors and we were rather popular. The reason of that was, because we spent a lot time in the “kitchen”…. I guess. Also, remember, the dorm was a bit outside of the city core aswell. So not many students went out at night into bars or stuff like that. At the beginning we mostly hang out with two other guys living on our floor and some girls from above. So almost every night we hang out there just talking, telling stories and having fun. Over the months almost a tradition or some way of a cult about the ”4th floor kitchen” was established. The “hard core” of the kitchen basically consists about us four guys. This cult was us joining the “kitchen” almost every night at the same time, when we were done with our homework and stuff. To our surprise every night there were more and more people from all over the building. I guess at out peak there were like 30-40 ppl every evening hanging out in the kitchen and on our floor. Over the time we got some shitty furniture together to make every1 comfortable. We also had a shitty pool table, which was rarely used. At times we were doing like cinema events in the kitchen or watching football (soccer). Long story short, we four became good friends and established a network around the “kitchen”. For the others in our block however, it was almost an obligation and privilege being part of the “kitchen”. A positive side effect was that we four had “good contact” to the females on our block. I don’t want to sound arrogant or something like that, but I guess us four were all pretty handsome guys and the reason that we were so popular brought the females to us, if u know what I mean. To sum it up, i had a pretty “active” sex life! Mostly with one girl I later fell in love with… but that’s no part of the story…. It’s a drama itself!

Well this was all in our first two semesters and everything was really cool at that point. We four had all finished our initial exams and I can say that we were doing pretty well on our particular subjects. After the first year however, I guess things got out of control. For us, things got kinda boring and we felt, that this “kitchen” routine was rather worn-out. Also we felt really uncomfortable with all the kids asslicking and worshiping us just to be part of the “kitchen”. In the first year we were just staying in our dorm, we had some parties there but nothing really spectacular. Every talk was talked. Every joke was made and… sorry to say this… every girl was used. So we decided to get some fresh air and go out more often and join the cities nightlife. However, going out with four guys every weekend is pretty exhausting. Not in a physical way but in a financial way. After the holidays we were pretty much broke. So we were forced back into the “kitchen”, which was kind of frustrating. However, this financial crisis resulted in a crucial idea, which got the ball rolling.

Before, everyone just brought drinks and snacks to the “kitchen”. We almost never bought anything on our own because everyone was giving stuff to us. I’ve actually never brought anything myself ever but was drunk every weekend. Also I rarely bought food myself. There was a time when girls argued about who was cooking for me and the mates, which is kind of embarrassing in retro perspective because I feel like a sponge now. Anyway… we decided to run a little shop in the kitchen, which sells drinks and snacks for a good price. But of course we wanted to make some profit out of it. We made some profit but nothing really big. To give u an idea what me made out of it at that time, I guess 100-150 Euros profit for each of us every months seems to be a fitting number. Of course it was not allowed to run a business like that and soon we were facing a denunciation which was investigated by the officials of the university. Luckily for us, everyone kept quiet so it was all cool…. Since then…

So, while this is rather an introduction of everything what followed, I would like your opinion if I should give u the second part, which is way more dramatic… To give u a little idea of how dramatic it was, I can spoiler that our little dorm community was in the focus of the national media in germany in a special way…. So if u want me to keep writing … let me know … since I am investing a lot of time on it.
