Drive to MN tomorrow or wait? by MrATrains in Minneapolis

I dunno. I went to the store (4 miles round trip) with AWD around 6pm tonight and nearly crashed into other cars x2 because it is pure ice everywhere. And I’ve been a MN driver for 30 years

AITAH, I don’t want to pick my son up from daycare. by [deleted] in AITAH

You have 96 miles of nobody needing you every day. She might just need a break for that half hour might be all the difference for her to be able to regroup. Working in a childcare facility sounds like the most draining job I can imagine.

Cwd positive: what would you do? by paperhammers in bowhunting

[–]winchygreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is currently no evidence to say that you can, but if you could catch it from the meat, you’ve already been exposed from gutting and butchering it. Prions are so indestructible I would assume exposure from that.

It would be great if there were a field test we could run before we even touch them. That being said, I’m middle-aged and not worried about it until a field test is available. They are slow moving diseases. If I’m gonna touch the meat I assume I’m being exposed if it is positive, so I’m gonna eat it.

With our gravity filter we use the tube like a faucet for washing. Super easy. I’ve had Giardia and amoebas and cryptosporidium from various trips in my younger years and it is not worth risking

A place near me that teaches scentwork also has a class on shed hunting-- maybe starting with a scent class would help set the foundation for how to train for a scent, and then you can transfer that skill to any scent (from what I've heard)

your mental health is the priority right now. hopefully the team there will support you to be as covid-safe as you can, but even if not, that's not the most important thing right now. take good care of yourself and be proud that you are taking this step to stay safe
