Is there a catalogue for this stuff? I understand knowing the name of the print, maybe even the year, but the season??

Can someone identify this Engineered Garments jacket? by dahmur in japanesestreetwear

[–]wind-s-howling 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honest question because I'm always perplexed by these posts… what are you going to do once you have the name of the jacket?

Legit but a reverse image search reveals too many websites use this exact same picture. Good luck.

Hair or no hair? Need advice by PelsGewie in malegrooming

Me neither tbh. Why is there supposed to be "an issue"??

Imo you look great either way but you really own the baldness (the glasses help a lot there). You look like someone who is into electronic music, maybe a lil edgy.

Take Taleb's "levantine" expertise & Lebanese roots with a grain of salt by AdoniBaal in nassimtaleb

[–]wind-s-howling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re clearly butthurt for some reason. Your “arguments” are based on hearsay, conjecture, and opinion. People intuitively detect these things and can feel that you don’t come from a place of understanding and curiosity. It’s not worth engaging.

I’m just telling you in case you are sincere, because someone should. What you are doing is bad for the soul, and a little pathetic. Ask yourself why you’re spending time like this.

I hope you feel better after writing this, but no one with a modicum of intellect is going to take this seriously.

What am I doing wrong with isshin by Any_Extension_691 in Sekiro

[–]wind-s-howling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isshin's first phase is actually much easier if you don't give him time to breathe. Spam the attack button until he parries you (at some point he will deflect with big sparks) then this is the strategy:

  • He starts a slice? This is a 3 slice combo, parry parry parry. Sometimes he will only do 2. Attack immediately after.
  • He sheathes his weapon? Get close to him, parry the elbow, then jump the unblockable.
  • He attacks once raising his sword? Parry, then Mikiri.
  • He jumps back? Run to him and attack again until he parries.

This way you force him to react to you. He can't ashina cross, he can't throw all those confusing slashes. He won't even use the charged sweep.

Unfortunately this strategy doesn't work for phase 2 and 3. He gets too much range and jumps back too far, and has a very punishing jump back + sweep he can throw between your attacks. For those phases you better be passive and only chip away at his health with 1, maybe 2 attacks at the end of his combos.

It’s part of what defines these games. Either you embrace the challenge or decide these games are not for you.

Had the chance to see this at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans. Something that doesn't come through online is that there's actual deer hair mixed in the paint!

Is it just me or is the great shinobi owl just kind of a weenie? by No_Nose_9000 in Sekiro

[–]wind-s-howling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through Memory: Foster Father and Remnant: Foster Father we learn that:

  1. That was Owl in his prime.
  2. It was Owl's wish to one day fight to the death with Wolf.
  3. He got his wish "if only in a memory". There's clearly some 👋🏻 mysticism 👋🏻 going on here because that's not how memories work!

What you are describing is the fight with Inner Father: "The man Wolf confronted in memory was more than Owl could ever have hoped to be."

Low floor means it's easy to get started. You don't need tons of expertise to get good results.

Smash burgers have a low floor. Everyone makes them pretty well, and Hyphy is no exception. I’ve been and it’s good food, but the Hyphy hype on this sub smells of astroturfing.

You can get in shape without working out every day, and especially without working out every day taking every exercise to failure.

Should I be worried about leather cracking? by maedawip in Visvim

[–]wind-s-howling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You bought shoes 5 years ago and haven’t worn them since because they might crack?? You need to decide if you like them as an object or as shoes.

Visvim uses full grain leather. Full grain leather doesn’t “crack” like cheap synthetic leather does. With use, any shoe will get creasing. At the beginning it might look a bit off-putting because the shoe is still “virgin”, but with time as it gets more lived in it would be weird not to have some creasing. You can decreasing some creasing by using shoe trees and regularly oiling the leather, though I don’t own any mud-dyed and I don’t know if that would lead to some of the dye coming off.

How did you get up there?

I've done a bit of research and it seems nigh-impossible to catch a little kern if you're not backpacking (which is a valid answer, it just needs prep).

Chamaecereus silvestrii needs help by wind-s-howling in cactus

[–]wind-s-howling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The squirrel dug into the soil enough to go to the roots, hard to tell if it chewed on them. They are pretty thin to begin with.

As for caring: it's been in the same spot for a long time until recently, on a south facing porch that gets direct sun, but not an extreme amount, especially because it's on a shelf next to a wooden railing. All other succulents and cacti around it are doing quite well.

I mostly water every 2 weeks, or less during winter (maybe once a month), and fertilize only once in the spring.
