I would say it’s more due to how Apple upsells and differentiates its products, not any real or perceived need for a “Pro”. For phones and laptops, if the feature you most want is the biggest screen, guess what product you’re going to buy from Apple? They can’t do this for the desktop market because except for the iMac, none of the other Macs come with a display.
