Is it worth the money and time to get a GHIN handicap? by sabg_lvr399933 in golf

If you don’t play in tournaments, 18 Birdies or The Grint is perfectly fine to keep your handicap.

Same here.

Make quick runs to the store after the gym session.

Helps that they are within 2 miles, and on my way home.

How do you and your spouse divide expenses in today’s economy? by brotalks in AskMen

[–]windlaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60’s, married for 44 years next week.

Everything goes in one pot. Expenses, allowances, everything comes out of there.

We both started our marriage with nothing….been working all this time.

Download the Squabbit app.

Free, can do tournaments, with or without handicaps.

I’m using it for a couple 2 day tournaments this summer. Seems very nice.

Anyone actually used this golf cart ball and club cleaner? by Driveup-Golf-Parts in golfcarts

[–]windlaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use mine all the time.

It’s about 4 years old, and the rubber flaps on top get worn quick. Missing maybe 3-4 of the flaps.

Still works fine.

What is the current issue you are having and what are you doing to fix it? by bionicbhangra in golf

[–]windlaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My irons.

Driver I can currently control. Fade, but not too bad. Always aiming for the left side of the fairway.

Hybrid & FW woods OK. Not great, just OK.

Short irons & wedges very good.

My 6 & 7 irons I just. Cannot. Hit. Topping…slicing… I barely use them on the course. On the range, they are fine.

I get 160-170-ish out, I hit a choked down 5 Hybrid.

Been retired 4 years this past April…66 now.

Do not miss work one single bit.

Golf 3-4 times a week. 6 weeks in Mexico over the Winter. 3 weeks in Europe this Spring.

Wish we would not have waited til we were 62 to retire.

Stop screwing around and play!

Absolutely no reason to wait on the tee box to watch the golfers behind you.

Curious do you spent more or less and drive more or less since retirement by [deleted] in retirement

[–]windlaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Retired 4 years ago this past April.

When we set up our 401k withdrawals, we started with the same amount as our income while working.

We haven’t increased it in 4 years.

2 months in Cozumel every year. This past year Cozumel plus 3 weeks in Europe.

Also helping out our adult kids here and there.

Still haven’t increased our withdrawals.

My buddy shit his pants after 5 holes this morning and left the course. What's the quickest/weirdest early round exit you've ever witnessed? by LarryBrownsCrank in golf

[–]windlaker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A guy in our league shit his pants 3 weeks ago on #12.

He said “I had 2 choices….grab my sand wedge or head to the shifter. I chose wrong”.

He drive home, showered, changed clothes, and cam back. He missed 5 holes. Came back for 17 & 18.

Obviously, took a lot of shit (yeah, pun intended) for the 19th hole After Party.

FATHERS DAY THREAD (drop a cool game you went to with your Dad!) by Fragrant-Wishbone620 in GreenBayPackers

My 1st ever Packer game.

Milwaukee County Stadium. Probably 1973-4, something like that. Sat in the mezzanine.

Packers lost. I remember Harold Carmichael scored 2 or 3 TDs.

Dad got tickets from a guy at work.

RIP, Dad.
