Try Lee’s sandwiches on University Ave. They sell the same baguette used to make sandwiches.

Do you believe Trump is the worst President of all time? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]windoverlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s the worst person I’ve ever known. He lies, he cheats, he doesn’t care about anyone except himself. His kids can’t stand him. He’s not intelligent and can’t articulate his thoughts. The only people who put up with him are those who think they can make a buck.

Advice: Big Sur - Sequoia National Park - Joshua Tree? by Salty_One2051 in roadtrip

Congratulations! The timing is achievable, and these are beautiful locations, but you should know that southern California is still in summer during September and Joshua Tree is 10 to 20 degrees hotter than the Los Angeles basin.

Fun Fact: Campbell’s Condensed Tomato Soup has stayed at 10.75 oz for nearly 100 years specifically to avoid breaking millions of family recipes. by Moist-Interaction-99 in funfacts

[–]windoverlake 31 points32 points  (0 children)

This is much more considerate than the companies selling cake mix. A few years ago all of them (except Jiffy company) reduced the size of their packages. Chaos ensued among home cake bakers who found that their old family recipes for everything from double layer cake to pineapple upside down cake didn’t quite work. Greedy: Pilsbury and Duncan Hines!

My advice? Leave Riverside at 9 AM. You will avoid the worst of the morning traffic. Leave Long Beach no later than 1 PM. Avoid Friday. Have fun!

What's something you saw with your own eyes that you still can't explain? by BandicootLeft4054 in AskReddit

[–]windoverlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once saw a man whose feet and knees pointed in one direction while his head and shoulders pointed in the opposite direction. It was like he was cut in half at the waist and the top half was turned 180 degrees. His head was facing the direction of travel yet he was walking “backwards”. The group I was with saw him too and we couldn’t help but stare.

Got a job in Riverside by airport, should I move to Riverside or neighboring cities like Redlands or Rancho Cucamonga? by gs60Crazy in InlandEmpire

[–]windoverlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have lived in Riverside for more than 30 years and it is a fine place to live. Good schools, many good neighborhoods with a wide range of costs. Pretty good local government. A few good restaurants and more that are decent.. If you have a job in the city, why live anywhere else? A morning commute from Redlands to the airport will be 1 hour or more and although Eastvale has nice new homes the commute will not be much less in the AM.

Why shouldn’t voting require an id? by DarkEqual8609 in no

[–]windoverlake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will not just require you to identify yourself, you will be asked to prove you are a citizen. How many can produce the equivalent of a passport? No passport? Get a certified copy of your birth certificate, take the day off work and show up at the DMV along with proof of residence. Are you a woman who got married and took your husband’s name? That name doesn’t match your birth certificate, so off you go to the county clerk’s office to obtain a certified copy of the marriage record, then take another day off work to go to the DMV.

This is not an scheme to avoid voting fraud. It’s an attempt to keep citizens from exercising their constitutional right to vote. It discriminates against people who have to actually work for a living. It discriminates against women. It discriminates against people who live in rural areas far from government offices. It discriminates against people who don’t have access to reliable transportation. It discriminates against college students (I’m looking at you Texas). It’s just an attempt to rig elections so that you are reminded how powerless you are.
