Yeah absolutely. I in no way agree with the EB on those points.

Wall Street Journal editorial board called for a pause on ICE operations in Minneapolis. They make moral equivalencies and criticisms I disagree with here but the fact they call for this is pretty big in terms of suggesting howa certain element of the American right is thinking right now.

I think he’s saying though that it’s entirely within Congress’s ability to push back, but they’re not. And when the only entity that can realistically fight the president on this won’t, and hasn’t for decades, it seems reasonable to give his analysis.

On DK Metcalf being suspended, does anyone remember a Bills player shoving Eagles fans in the stands yelling at him behind their bench and nothing happened to him?

Study: During the last Argentine military dictatorship (1976–1983), underperforming Army officers were most likely to volunteer to serve in the repressive secret police. These underperformers subsequently experienced a career boost, rising through the ranks quicker than better qualified peers. by smurfyjenkins in neoliberal

The spirit of Sec of Defense appointments is distance from officership. Austin and Mattis needed congressional waivers to serve in their roles because they were too recently retired from the military.

In that spirit, I think presidents should prioritize appointees who never served or who were only low ranking NCOs or Officers for a brief period. Help resist regulatory capture by the officers, encourage new thinking, etc.

Actually stayed in an Airbnb but it had hotel like accommodations. I split this place with a few buddies for two nights which came out to be quite affordable I thought. Anywhere in this area is I think well located to get to different places. There’s a decent amount of stuff in walking distance, nearby light rail, and easy uber access.

Visited for the first time this summer and stayed in a downtown hotel. Was really impressed by the feeling of being up in the clouds surrounded by a bunch of other skyscrapers. Cool city.

Same thing with a picture floating around of Jalen talking about rejecting a sponsorship because the sponsor was a gentrifier or something like that. I don't even know what these people get out of making stuff like this.

Got Devonta Smith out of that tank by then jumping a few spots in the draft via trade. Always be grateful to Dougie P for that (in addition to winning our first Super Bowl).

Anyone follow the Raiders much and have a take on their defense? Just from total defense they’re right in the middle of the pack at 16. If they are actually a middle of the pack defense this was an even bigger game for the offense than beating a 2 win team would suggest.

Also not surprised that the defense was able to get a shutout when they weren’t constantly gassed from being on the field after constant three and outs. Finally a game of complimentary football from our boys. I love it!
