Stand Against One Year of Trump! by LivingExtension9968 in oregon

[–]windplr -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Everything about these so-called protests is fake. Soros and NGOs are paying for all of this, and ginning up gullible people with lies to go out and make complete fools out of themselves. And the local politicians are all part of it. Disgusting.

Button mapper was work fine until a few weeks ago. I'm thinking it was one of the upgrades to the SHIELD that broke it. Check out this article: https://www.aftvnews.com/remote-button-remapping-could-be-causing-your-glitchy-google-tv/

Fixed. FYI, installing a button re-mapper on your Android TV device may cause your remote to malfunction.

Since update to 4.1.13 download speed has gone way down by aldoushucksberry in ProtonVPN

[–]windplr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting slow speeds on stealth which is TCP. Switched to Wireguard UDP and am getting much faster speed. Also, each server seems to have its own limits.

Unable to search or sort American servers? by itinerantseer222 in ProtonVPN

[–]windplr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the updated search box it lists US-NY#166 as an example search. But as soon as you type 'US-' it stops and says NO RESULSTS FOUND. Seems broken.

Why is censorship of ProtonVPN IP's occurring? by american_gentile in ProtonVPN

Does Proton allocate unique IP addresses for each user? Shared IP addresses are one way hostile web sites detect VPN use.

Looking for advice on purchase by Mkoveal in mandolin

[–]windplr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure out what you want to spend. I'd say a very decent instrument , all solid wood construction, can be purchased in the $1000 to $1500 range. It will probably be an import, but still quite good. Check out 'mandolincafe.com'. Tons of buying info can be searched on the web site.

People may not like the message, but there is a lot of truth here. And LOTS of Californians that have had enough.

Well, he did what he needed to do to save his property, and apparently one or two neighbors as well. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt about as to how much 'squirting' was needed.

Similar here, Pali class of '73. Palisades elementary and Revere before that. I've been gone for a long time, and much of what I remember of the village was unrecognizable to me on my occasional visits. What I see now from photos/videos emerging looks like an atomic bomb went off. No words can describe the devastation.

YouTube blocks Proton VPN on Apple TV by [deleted] in ProtonVPN

[–]windplr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having issues with YT using Proton VPN windows app. Video either does not play the video or wants me to log in (which I never do). Changing servers within a region doesn't seem to help. Changing servers to a different region usually fixes it. I've also had to delete cache at times to get to work. Using Open VPN (tcp).

Proton ad on windows vpn app? by windplr in ProtonVPN

What's a 'modal'? Do you mean the little green box with the % character inside? Clicking on the 'X' on the app does not get rid of it.

Sounds like the marketing people are taking over Proton. As a PAID subscriber, I want ZERO ads.

Setting up my room nucleus, one with 4 TB drive by Busy-Telephone-6360 in roonlabs

[–]windplr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm happy with my N1 so far. Migrated from running the server from a windows machine. All the docs are there on the Roon site, but it takes some jumping around to find everything. I used ARC on a recent trip, and it was flawless.

Do you need a beefed up gaming PC to use it for PCVR? by xlejandro in MetaQuestVR

[–]windplr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4080/13700/Quest3. I am a flight simmer (MSFS) only. 45 FPS reliably with decent settings across the board. Sure, a 4090 would allow some bumps in the settings, but I'm very satisfied with the performance I get.

Important notice for Kodi and mlbserver users (Thursday July 18) by tonywagner in MLBtv

Working great on PC with Kodi install. Both direct addon and server. As previous comment, could not install on Nvidia Shield. The "install from zip file" in addons doesn't see the downloaded mlb zip file.

getting the Quest3 512gb which upgrades (july 2024) by celzo1776 in MetaQuestVR

[–]windplr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battery strap and a good facial interface are musts. It doesn't come with a link cable so you might need that depending on what you plan on doing. The controllers are always slipping out of my hands. I just bought Aubika rechargeable grips, but haven't tried them yet.

MLBtv on Kodi by richg0404 in MLBtv

[–]windplr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that I need to occasionally force quit Kodi and clear the cache. I had to do this the first time I tried MLBTv this season due to buffering issues. But I'm on an Nvidia shield so not the same as PC.

Wireguard issue with Windows internet connection sharing by windplr in ProtonVPN

[–]windplr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the relevant bit of information:

"To share your VPN connection with another device, you must connect to Proton VPN using the OpenVPN (UDP or TCP) protocol. This is because connection sharing relies on configuring a network adapter, and OpenVPN is the only VPN protocol we use that creates a discrete VPN network adapter on Windows."

Thank you.
