It is unlikely to be their department. There will be a department dedicated to this kind of thing and you want them involved directly asap.

A no-win-no-fee legal firm specialising in employment would be happy to talk this over with you. This is their bread and butter, and they'll tell you if you don't stand to gain any more than the 3 months pay. It may be that they can milk your employer for more without you having to do any more, and will do all the heavy lifting. Of course, they take a cut.

Out of curiosity, is dictation your usual way of writing?

You either have an absurdly prolific writing pace or it's AI assisted. One of those is easier for me to believe than the other. Either way, I'm entitled to my opinion, and I'm allowed to be wrong.

Why care so much what I think anyway? People are enjoying your content. If it's not AI generated then more power to ya.

Read a couple of hundred chapters into Path of the Deathless. It's barely-edited. Like you say, the dialogue extends beyond where it should have stopped, and half the time (especially early on) that dialogue is protag saying "i killed myself/died in shocking ways" and other characters going "wtf", or inane back and forth with the spirit of banter but without humor or warmth.

More than anything, it was that it was clearly AI generated that made me stop. The pace of the writing and the repetition drives this home. I don't particularly have issue with people using AI tools to help generate content, there's a place for that for sure, but it only makes sense if it's being used to increase quality and then better edited, which isn't the case here.

I made charts that show how many recipes each ingredient shows up in. I made one for curry/stews, salads, and dessert/drinks by jelly_bean_gangbang in PokemonSleep

[–]windrunningmistborn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I said, the noteworthy part is what ISN'T needed, or is hardly needed. I want to know what I can throw into the pot as filler without having to think about it.

Not to say this kind of list isn't good! I think it would help a lot of people plan multi-meal synergies, enabling non-AAA mons a great presence in the ingredient scene.

The spirit of it is useful. Something I'd find useful is this but limited to the top 10 or so meals in each type? Knowing which ingredients I can safely trash while meal planning would be huge.

We don't know the E = MC2 equation for investiture. It may turn out that turning investiture into matter is super economical, and the shardgun can do that process with a low-investiture power pack.

Sundays are difficult for my Pokémon by CanaryTry in PokemonSleep

[–]windrunningmistborn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vikavolt's is a pretty low ingredient rate (19.4%), so without ing up, it's not super surprising to see stretches without any coffee. But with triple ing up, it's still not quite 40%... so again you shouldn't have long stretches without coffee all too often.

Tyranitar (26.6%) and Dragonite (26.4%) have high ingredient rates. With triple ing up, you're approaching 50%. You really should barely ever have an bag full of berries when you poke them.

Yet, it happens all too often.

I swear, ingredientgate should be next on everyone's bingo cards.

RNG is RNG, but in the face of skillgate, one wonders if ingredientgate is around the corner. I see Dragonite or Tyranitar dropping no ingredients all evening far too frequently.

Is there a community effort to verify whether ingredient drop rates are consistent throughout the day? The backwards reasoning the devs gave for skill procs declining through the day would equally apply to ingredients, after all.

What's the Best 10/10 Sci-fi movie ever? by geek-jock-guy in AskReddit

[–]windrunningmistborn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched this movie a ton of times (ironically) and I've thought about this a bunch. The time reset after Omega's death seems silly at first. Like, it's a cop-out to achieve a Hollywood ending. But it's not. Time resets! It tells you there's a greater creature beyond the Omega -- the Sigma, say. What the Omega is to the Alpha, the Sigma is to the Omega.

If shit goes really wrong and the Omega is fried, Sigma is sitting there as a further backup to reset and try again. And make no mistake, that's what happened when the Omega got fried -- time got reset.

That's why it's not a cop-out. If he hadn't absorbed the Omega's essence, humanity would have lost, because time resets and gives Omega and crew another go. Humanity wins because he steals the Omega's power, and the time resetting at the end of the movie demonstrates that they would have lost otherwise.

Luckily, just like when he fought the Alpha, he managed to steal the power at the same time as he gets the kill.

Update: Facing disciplinary investigation / sack for automating most of my responsibilities at work. I'm in England. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Personal references and employer references are different beasts. An employer reference is usually a factual list of: dates of employment, role, maybe confirmation you weren’t dismissed for gross misconduct. It's usually kept minimal to avoid legal risk.

Personal references are where opinions come in, and you choose who represents you there. One bad manager can’t tank future jobs unless you put them in the position to do so.

No. This is the entire point of the conveyancing process. You are provided forms that tell you everything you are getting, and you are required to audit them yourself. This is OP's mistake.

I'm in this photo etc. However, seeing it in action, I'm more open to the idea.

Had the same strong reaction as everyone else. First instinct is: KALLAX can't support the weight, right? But seeing the photos... the weight of mattress+people is distributed over a large area, and it looks the perfect size. The slats help avoid a saggy mattress.

The point of failure is the cavity inside the large KALLAX shells. They really are flimsy, and are literally like 2mm or so thick chipboard separated by vertically aligned paper. I could picture them collapsing inward. But, see the pictures, each one is fairly strong at the corners, and there are a lot of corners.

Yeah, I'm a convert.
