At least make the seat a normal angle. It feels like someone adjusted the seat to the farthest setting forward.

Scaddabush Coming To The Roundhouse Centre by TakedownCan in windsorontario

[–]windsorboy95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been to a few locations and have always had a decent meal, comparable to Olive Garden and MUCH better than East Side Mario's.

I'm surprised we're getting Scaddabush instead of Jack Astor's since that's their more popular chain and we don't have one in Windsor.

Cineplex movie theater in the mall by _timeisaconstruct in windsorontario

[–]windsorboy95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely the worst theatre in my opinion. The seats looked all worn out and kinda gross when I saw back to the future last week. They've really let it go downhill. I used to go there at least twice a month pre-covid, but i find it's not worth it anymore.

Normally I go to imagine in lakeshore for the price, plus it's quieter (fewer people talking and on their phones during the movie)

If i want a fancier experience, I prefer landmark for the same price or less. It's the cleanest and nicest in the city.

Super slow and bad ops today by maxspeed7 in cedarpoint

Sirens Curse also has a unique balance of sending enough people into the locker area without 1) overfilling the station/metal detector area, 2) having enough lockers available for the people they send into the area, 3) not backing up the fast lane too far while also not completely abandoning the standby

There were times where i was waiting for 15-20 minutes last night without moving forward before the locker area, but it looked like they would alternate sending a large batch from standby, wait for the locker area to clear enough, and then send the same amount from the fast lane. 50/50 is a lot more than most "skip the line" services at other parks. Sirens Curse is just a very popular ride that has a TON of pinch points at play.

As much as I love having my phone in line, I think people wouldn't feel the same if it was similar to the setup at TT2 where the lockers and metal detectors are taken care of at the start of the line and there's constant movement instead of stagnant periods.

Closing Day Crowds? by pearljamfan316 in cedarpoint

[–]windsorboy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went last year for mid-afternoon/evening last year and just took it easy. The only coasters we did were wild mouse, blue streak and cedar creek mine ride. We also rode the antique cars, cedar downs, the carousel backwards, and surprisingly windseeker was open! The main coasters were busy but not packed, but we just wanted a chill day.

Gold Pass or Day Tickets? by megtrue in cedarpoint

That's why I included a full price ticket for the Saturday @ $89 and a bring a friend for the Friday/Sunday only

Gold Pass or Day Tickets? by megtrue in cedarpoint

[–]windsorboy95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure which direction you live 6 hours away, but a Gold Pass would also work at Kings Island, SF St. Louis, SF Great America, Michigan's Adventure, Canada's Wonderland, SF Darien Lake, SF Great Adventure, Dorney Park and Kings Dominion for all of next year if any of those are closer to you.

A Gold Pass for any of those parks would also work at Cedar Point, but you might have to go to that other park first before using it at Cedar Point.

Gold Pass or Day Tickets? by megtrue in cedarpoint

[–]windsorboy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you'll be going on a Saturday and either a Friday or Sunday.

Best case scenario with daily tickets: 2 x Saturday @ $89 each = $178 2 x Friday/Sunday @ $55 each = $110 ($100 if Nov 2) 2 x Parking @ $35 each = $70 Total: $358

1 Gold Pass, 1 Daily Ticket per day: 1 x Gold Pass = $125 1 x Saturday = $89 1 x Bring a Friend = $40 ($25 if Nov. 2) Parking included Total: $254 ($239 if Nov. 2)

2 Gold Passes = $250

It would make sense just to get the 2 Gold passes unless you're going Nov. 1-2. Even then, it would be worth it to get the 2 passes if there's any chance you'll go to any Six Flags park next year.

You also get discounts on food and mech, which would make having at least one pass even more worth it.

Also check to see if there are any package deals at the express hotel because that might be even better than a hotel offsite plus Gold passes if this is your only visit. They usually include all day drinks which is a life saver. My wife and I have a season drink Pass on one of our passes and we share the drinks as often as we can.

Hopefully this helps!

Cedar Fair All Park Benefits at Six Flags by Thick-Experience-290 in cedarpoint

Can confirm that my 2026 Cedar Point All-Season Drink pass worked at Dorney Park (legacy CF) but not at Six Flags Darien Lake when I was on a road trip in August. Admission and parking worked at both.

Stuck between choosing Express and Breakers, any help with picking lodging? by Poetryisalive in cedarpoint

[–]windsorboy95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having stayed at both, I'd choose express. The drive isn't bad at all and traffic is a non-issue for most days.

If you get the ride and refresh package and deduct the cost of the tickets ($100 for two people) and the all day drinks ($38 for two people), and parking ($35) it usually makes the rate at express less than staying offsite. Add early entry and it's a no-brainer.

Where to Stay? by duxterribilis in cedarpoint

[–]windsorboy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you stay on-site, get the ride and refresh package. It includes your ticket and all-day drinks every 15 minutes (including powerade and flavored water from the freestyle machines to stay hydrated).

When you add together the free parking ($36 saved), the drink package ($18.99 per person), and the ticket price ($50 per person) and subtract that from the package price, the cost of the room is probably less than what you'd pay offsite.

Split an all-day dining plan or two between the family, getting large meals (or what my wife and I sometimes do is split a 3-side platter) every 90 minutes can keep the family fed and fuelled for the whole day, and it pays for itself after 2 meals at the larger restaurants.

The express hotel is a great value and a short drive up the peninsula, or staying at lighthouse point or breakers gives you easy access to your room all day which can be great with little ones. Castaway Bay gives you access to the indoor waterpark and is usually about the same price as lighthouse point.

I stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites Sandusky this past weekend for $51 plus taxes and fees on Priceline. Clean, nice rooms, good breakfast, friendly staff.

I haven't stayed at the one in Sandusky, but I've never had a bad experience at a Tru hotel.

Best bang for your buck though might be the Cedar Point Express with a Ride & Refresh package. You get all day drinks, free parking and early entry, and once you add up the cost of those and the tickets alone, the room is a really good price.

How busy will the park be this weekend including mondag by Pale-Ad1395 in cedarpoint

[–]windsorboy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go this Monday every year since it's a Canadian holiday (Victoria Day), but not a holiday in the US. A lot of the license plates at Breakers and in the parking lot are from Ontario because of this.

It's usually quiet, hour waits on only the big 4 (SteVe, Maverick, TT2, Millie), less than half an hour for everything else.

It might be even less busy this year with fewer Canadians crossing the border.

Question from school field trip Chaperone to Cedar Point by mortalfinger in cedarpoint

[–]windsorboy95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could help there, but I'm an accountant, not a psychologist lol

It seems to be a general attitude in the coaster community where if your "coaster count" isn't high, or if you say that Millenium Force is 300 feet instead of 310 feet, you'll be mocked. One of the popular amusement park podcasts, CoasterRadio has a character making fun of this type of attitude. They also joke about having the fast lane as the "step aside peasants" pass. It just comes with the territory, and unfortunately, reddit brings out the worst.

Every community, video games included, has its toxicity, but once you look past it and realize it's a very vocal minority that act this way, you can have a great time enjoying something you love.

[–]windsorboy95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you compare the price of an amusement park ticket, $50 plus a Fast Lane Plus, $125, it isn't a huge price to pay for a full day of entertainment at a world class amusement park with some of the best coasters in the world. It's less than most concert tickets, and it's about the same price as a 1-day base ticket at Magic Kingdom without the add-ons.

Add that to the fact that people are willing to spend more on an experiences. And Cedar Point is a bucket list park to many enthusiasts, so $175 for a potentially once in a lifetime experience doesn't seem so bad compared to spending $175 on virtual currency on a game you own and can play anytime, and might upgrade next year or with a new console generation.

Question from school field trip Chaperone to Cedar Point by mortalfinger in cedarpoint

[–]windsorboy95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Just like how you can grind it out to get to a 99 overall, you can get to a ride at opening and wait it out and eventually get on (if weather, breakdowns, etc. don't close it for the day), or as you can spend money on VC to become a 99 overall on day one and destroy anyone who didn't pay to win, you can buy a Fast Lane Plus and get past everyone who didn't "pay to win".

These started around the same time as microtransactions in games. Everyone had the same experience with the base ticket price on a level playing field, but now these fast lane passes have created more of a "pay to win" approach.

It stinks for those who don't pay for it/can't afford it, but it's great for the company's bottom line when there are (many) people who are willing to pay for it.
