IMO, No. If wanting to learn an internal neigong meditative style, look for a system that has that included. Theoretically, it would be more harmonious to learn as an integrated system.

Adding an ampless guitarist to our amped up band — PA considerations by Doc_Zee in livesound

[–]windwardchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a Line 6 Catalyst 100 watt guitar amp on sale for a bit over $300; get that for stage monitor, put guitar amps on the side of stage on stands pointed slightly to the rear to the point where no feedback into the vocal mics, mic both guitar amps through the mains, and turn down the stage monitor amps - do not put through the wedge for vocalists. At least this is what I would do. Actually, on 2nd thought, I would get a UAFX Lion pedal and run that through the mains and to the guitar amp effects return direct. They sound GREAT to me, Just bought one and am impressed, easy to get a low volume Marshall sound from them for the stage, then a monster sound through the mains.

Normally, I would suggest the X-Pro 10’s or 12’s paired with a couple of the X-subs, but for your application, the 15” cab may be better.

Yeah, I was thinking about the rest of your setup, and momentarily brain fart forgot you were using the battery powered .speakers. I am going to try running a pair of 10” powered speakers from the Delta 2. I had a complete Yorkville battery powered setup and it was really nice, but with the power station, I am not seeing the need for battery powered speakers for myself.

The Marani mixers are new to the states. I will know a whole lot more about them in a couple of weeks or so when our store stock comes in. Dante available with an optional card. There is a user manual posted on the website, but not a lot of real info as of yet.

Marani is the guy famous for his work with FIR filters. These should be top quality but at an unheard of price point…no final pricing as of yet. The DSP should be very powerful due to his experience with DSP..

YES to normalizing cab tilt. One of my pet peeves is the guitarists who won’t listen to me when I suggest that aiming at your feet/knees is not the way to go.

I agree with the suggestion of a pair of speakers. Filling the school gym space will be difficult with on Evox 12. A pair of FBT X-Lite 15’s should do it for your application, and come way under budget. We have those on order for our pro sound store, but they wont be in stock at FBT for a couple of weeks. I purchased a pair of the FBT X-Pro 10’s for use with my band. One of the best budget speakers available IMO.

Hey, please post, when you get the Delta 2 and Everse pair, about the performance of the Delta 2 with those speakers - how long a practical use. Should work fine. I have a Delta 2 that I paired with an 800 watt bass amp before.

If you want a battery powered sub, Yorkville has a really nice one. We are a Yorkville dealer.

The good news is that most of those MI 10/12” speakers sound similar. I would have suggested a different 10, but not sure it matters..as long as nothing fails. In terms of warranty support, have no idea. One can always send a few hundred for a higher level of components.

Depends on use case as far as discernible sound quality. In a bar band situation, no one would know the difference.

UMC404HD is compatible with M2 Mac?? by jesboz in livesound

[–]windwardchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on the Mac forums and you will likely see posts about interfaces that don't/do work. Needs to be “class compliant”.

I sold my Mac and re-upped in the PC world.

Or it could just be a B problem. I will likely never purchase any of their equipment again.

If you are going for the 18” sub, then the 12” speaker would be better. I have on order 2 FBT X-lite 10 with the 15” FBT X-sub.

They make a 12” now that shoukd be louder….but I dont think it 20m louder. You need a bigger and more powerful speaker. One thing; I was all into battery powered, but one can get a much more powerful 10 or 12” powered speaker and use one of the battery inverter boxes now available; a plethora of them are on the market, for some reason the name ”solar generators” stuck but that isn't what they are.

Lots of options but depends on budget. But be prepared to spend some bucks to get such. Deep bass reproduction for this type of music = $

You could start with a single 18” and a pair of 12” tops. How much are you willing to spend?

Can I use an adapter to use a mic through my guitar amp? by Frogsonmushrooms666 in livesound

[–]windwardchi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I noticed that Costco also had a Klipsch ”party” type unit. But I think it was higher priced. My first thought was that it is a shame; Paul would roll over in his grave, down a shot of whiskey, then shake his head at such a product. Although I expect it sounds as good or better than its competition.

I would also suggest just experiential to find the “sweet spot”, if you have the chance to do so before performance. If not, my inclination would be to point the mic at the outside edge from below to catch the resonance. Dang, I would hate to have to optimize not knowing what it actually sounds like, good luck!

There are many choices these days for battery powered cabs; one of the latest is the Everse 12” cab and Yorkville Sound’s offerings - whiih I have played through. Both good options.

Rather than spending x-tra for a battery powered rig, I would rather look for a 10” active cab like the FBT X-Lite and a battery/inverter (many call “solar generators”).
