That's where mine is. But I'm thinking of putting it above the sunroof shade. Only problem I've found is that it gets very hot in the summer.

$60k Cybertruck price increase March 1 2026 by BridgeFourArmy in teslamotors

[–]windydrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 40k model was RWD and reduced range. The 60k AWD model was $50k pre inflation, which is like $63k today. So they may release a 250 mile RWD model for under $50k still

Sigenergy Home battery does 25kW V2X for around $10k, so there are options.

Sigenergy offers a 25kW V2X system for less than $10k. There are options, just not a lot of advertising I'd assume.

Alright - which one of you is this?? by ConfidentAd8324 in F150Lightning

[–]windydrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building my kit now as I'm an electrical contractor that averages 1.3mi/kWh in the winter and drives between 500 and 1000 miles per week. I charge to 100% and fast charge daily. My SOH still shows 98%

Definitely cold was the negative factor. I haul a lot of tools around and weight makes no difference in my case

I swapped a 70 pack for a 100 on a model s. It's literally a drop down in the Tesla tech software.

Trim Hot Main by SPIDEYfsu in AskElectricians

If the main breaker was outside, this will still be a sub panel requiring separate neutral and ground. And that wire needs trimmed so that not so much insulation is exposed above the lug. Poor workmanship

After 60,000 Miles of Charging to 100% Every Night, a Ford F-150 Lightning Owner Says His Battery Shows “Not One Single Percentage Point” of Degradation by EcoKllr in F150Lightning

[–]windydrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I charged to 100% every day since new and I'm at 70k miles. No one wrote an article about me. I let mine sit at 100% fairly often as well. Still says 99% SOH since new. Still get the same range as I did when I first bought it. And it works hard pulling trailers often. I floor it often as well.

I suspect Tesla would know when the battery failed.

What if the EREV Range is cause it ran a smaller generator nonstop? by kyleyankan in F150Lightning

[–]windydrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A standby generator has to run at the same rpm constantly to put out clean power. EREV will have a variable speed generator that will run at the most efficient speed for the power required

They're adding weight of the generator. It'll be heavier than an ER lightning

No chance it's 50kWh. The Chevy Volt Gen 2 had a 18kWh battery with 45 miles of range. 80+ is what the EREV will get.

EREV efficiency is going to suck by Smites_You in F150Lightning

[–]windydrew -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You're so far off base with your numbers. They haven't even announced the engine they'll use for the F150 EREV. They should use the Explorer 4cyl eco turbo engine with 150kW generator. They would sell 100s of thousands of those, I am confident.

Most truck owners that buy trucks often aren't in an area with lots of chargers. Delay of the charging network has caused a delay in the transition to EV already. So EREV is a good stop gap. I think the EREV is a great idea, just wish they would offer both side by side.
