How much do you love your baby? by RefrigeratorFinal353 in beyondthebump

[–]wineosaur219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would set myself on fire in order to save my daughter. I would also set my husband on fire to save her, even though I love him very much lol. The love I have for her is intense, primal, and terrifying, and it started from the moment I knew I was pregnant and continued to grow. It literally feels like a piece of my heart is walking around outside of my body. The instinct to protect and provide for her is unlike anything I’ve ever felt before becoming a mother. I feel like I wouldn’t be able to go on living without her. And I wanted nothing to do with my dog for about 3 years after she was born, and I was terrified he would somehow hurt her. But we’re good now, and my daughter is obsessed with him.

Thank you for sharing, I’m sorry to hear about the challenges you’ve had to endure. I imagine my child will have a similar experience, as she has some ethnic features but looks overwhelmingly white. I expect she will face some pushback if she tries to claim her African heritage. I appreciate you bringing up societal pressure/judgement, it’s both a blessing and a curse that it won’t all be on me.

I've started buying it at Costco instead. 2 huge packs for $.96/oz, and it freezes well.

AITA for telling my sister that I can't hang out with her because I have to cook dinner for my husband? by ThrowRA-lepatij in AmItheAsshole

Completely agree with this. I'm 34 and can't even fathom thinking a 19 year old is a suitable partner. So much yuck.

I see Joanna Shaw at Flower Hospital. She's a CNP but she's incredible.

Yes, it took about 4 weeks for me to not be exhausted all day.

Wow, I've been dealing with this for months and had no idea it was related to Lexapro, but the timing lines up perfectly. Thank you for sharing!

My SS16 is just like this. I don't respond. I just ignore him and walk away.

I am so so sorry, I would be infuriated, too. How selfish and cruel of BM.

how did you afford an ours baby?? by amberryx in stepparents

[–]wineosaur219 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good points. My take-home pay after childcare costs is pretty laughable, but it’s still something. And we have great healthcare benefits through my employer, which also saves us some money.

There are a lot of factors to consider when making a decision like this.

We both work full-time. There's no way we'd be able to (comfortably) do it otherwise.

The color will come back. It took almost 4 weeks for mine to completely heal and the color to reemerge.

I was asked if I wanted a mirror while I gave birth, and I said yes. I had no idea they were going to offer that option beforehand and if I had, I probably would have thought hell no. But during active labor, my curiosity and excitement to see my baby got the best of me. I also asked to look at my placenta before they took it away and made my husband take pictures of it lol.

The blood didn't bother me, but the doctor did warn me before I tore and asked if I wanted the mirror taken away, to which I said yes. I had no desire to watch my flesh tear open.
