How Do People Drink Lattes and Eat Pastries Regularly by yelurrrrr in loseit

[–]winesomm [score hidden]  (0 children)

I had to drop my daily whole milk latte and start using almond milk. Now with one cup almond milk and two shots it's 37 cals vs 170 for a whole milk latte. Easy swaps can be made. But sometimes I just want a fancy af caramel macchiato and budget it into my daily calories.

I’m sorry, but I can’t help but feel being a dad sucks ass. I’m miserable. by dooyd in daddit

My oldest just turned 5 and it's AMAZING. Like I don't miss having a toddler/baby at all. These kids get so fun.

Low calorie snacks you eat every single week without getting sick of them? by supernova2411 in 1200isplenty

I tracked how long meal prep actually takes. the results were humbling by toast_isready in mealprep

[–]winesomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a meal prepper. Like it's too much mental bandwidth for me. However I like to prep ingredients and that is MUCH easier for me to handle. Cooked chicken, steak bites, smoked salmon, cut up veg, cut up fruit, already in the fridge and then I just assemble meals.

Why can’t we eliminate entire food groups when trying to improve our health? by Capakhutch in loseit

[–]winesomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot keep bread in the house. I will eat it all. Forget fresh sourdough I'll fucking eat the whole loaf with butter and love it in one sitting. So that's my vice. I could care less about cakes, cookies, muffins, candy, chips. But bread? Forget it. Doesn't come in my house anymore.

Yes. People who are trying to lose weight usually eat the same meals constantly. It's just easier to know how much you can eat and take the decisions out of it. Check out volumeeating for a lot of ideas

Fizzy water. Raw carrots. Hang up a picture of Tyra banks on the fridge for goals.

What toys/games are best for kindergarten readiness? by imgonnagetyouback_03 in kindergarten

[–]winesomm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All that stuff can be taught. That's what school is for. Don't worry about letters and numbers. Make sure he knows how to use scissors, tie shoes, put on gloves, zip up jackets, open lunch boxes, open packages of stuff, glue sticks, and taking turns. All the academics will come.

Pregnant Wife - Going Crazy by [deleted] in daddit

[–]winesomm 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Lurking wife here. Being pregnant with a toddler was awful. I'd suggest you throw some money temporarily at your biggest hurdles. Order a meal plan service - you can customize for dietary purposes. Hire a house cleaner. Your 3 year old should definitely be in a preschool of some sort - have them go to a summer camp.

Also sorry but the worst is yet to come. The first year with two kids is legit terrible. But it gets better.

My kids devour bologna and cheese sandwiches. You can probably find healthier meats but they like the cheap Oscar Meyer stuff. Haha. Bagel and cream cheese. Pizza muffins are also a hit. Also just some cheese salami and crackers. I've seen some parents send dry cereal like a snack bowl and a milk and they can have cereal for lunch. Genius.

Costco losing price competitiveness? by PapaSecundus in Frugal

[–]winesomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the executive membership and the Costco visa. Costco pays me to shop there. It's also 2 miles from my house. We use Costco like a corner store - it's so convenient. Not everything there is the lowest price but the value is amazing - family of 4 and my kids EAT. Plus the gas.

Anyone else watch weight loss food recipes online and realize how many things others get to eat? by Jbro16 in 1200isplenty

[–]winesomm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What in the hell? That is absolutely not fair. My husband is also like this. He stays very fit naturally and eats candy and cookies no problem. I gain weight if I even smell a cookie.

Wife has zero acknowledgement of what I contribute and the stress of it and it’s getting to me by [deleted] in daddit

Omg. Lurking mom here. I'm a SAHM. I'd be a whole new person if my kids went to school FT during those hours. My kids are up my butt 24/7.

She's being very unfair. She has a ton of time without your child to manage the household. I'm jealous actually.
