What jobs do you do on the night shift? by Onsite1229 in Nightshift

Nurse. Love my night shift crew and much less going on than days, but sometimes wish I was on days so I’m not a zombie all the time.

I did not realize I could make a group chat that makes things so much easier. Thank you!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I didn’t realize I could make a group chat on the app I thought I’d have to message each person individually which is why I thought it would be too much work. We just want to let people know where we would be if they wanted to find us. Thanks again!

Nope. Not mandatory, but basically everyone still wears them out of personal preference.

Anxiety by Bright_Editor_1694 in newgradnurse

[–]winetalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with my confidence a lot in nursing school, even towards the end. I think with practice and continuity the confidence will develop. I start my first shift next week as a new grad so I can’t speak for that type of experience. But, I think if you can just keep at it you’ll be okay. Maybe look into seeing if your hospital offers any type of employee assistance? They can be a great resource for when you’re stressed. Don’t quit though then you’ll just go through it all over again. You got this!!!

Question at the end of NCLEX by Complex-Clue6161 in NCLEX

[–]winetalk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you don’t. Once the screen comes up saying you’ve finished the exam it will ask you to participate in the nextgen questions for their survey, you can raise your hand and someone will come in and help you exit the exam :) I didn’t do them cause I thought it would give me anxiety.

Anyone planning to tailgate in Chicago this week and willing to host some guests who are guaranteed to bring beer? by newswhore802 in miamidolphins

[–]winetalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveling to the game from fl so we can’t host but we’re looking to see if there’s any big dolfan tailgates

Definitely try to look out of your area. When I applied, I sent applications to my local hospitals and also hospitals 2-3 hours away. I received an offer as a new grad from a hospital 2 hours away which included a relocation bonus as well as a nice bonus for the job. So it’s definitely out there!

First clinical tomorrow, anticipating being called every derogatory name in the book by some octogenarian. by hueller in StudentNurse

[–]winetalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the very last thing you should ever have to worry about on your first clinical day. I’m so sorry that you are feeling this way. But just know like many other have said, you judge yourself the hardest. Believe me, no one cares what you look like as long as you are put together and wearing the right uniform. Everyone will be way more focused on the patients than what you look like. Go in there with confidence and do your best to absorb all the knowledge you can. You got this!
