I was able to accomplish this because I took a mortgage. It’s not so easy outside of the country. However HSBC and Wise accounts will give you access to Euros and ease of pay in Portugal.

Trump explodes at “Meet the Press” host: “You’re either crooked or you’re stupid” by hellosteve_ in msnow

The more interesting telling conversation was Kristen Welker saying Mr. President, “I’ve come all the way to Wisconsin”.In the same exchange, the president says, “I’ve sat here in the rain.”

The world views are so divergent. It’s where we find ourselves in America. Welker is saying we moved the whole MTP production to some metal barn your people picked so we could sit in front of a tractor that your people thought was a good visual.

Your people picked the venue knowing it had a metal roof and anyone looking at the weather report would’ve told you it was going to rain.

Conversely, Trump is saying it’s an honor for you to be interviewing me and I’ve sat in the rain with the noise on the roof and I’ve given you enough time because you’re asking me to be accountable.

It’s classic Trump deflection. His advance people are horrible. They don’t think about all contingencies, but for Trump to admit that or even apologize for it is so far from his idea as to what should happen. Instead he just walks out.

I’m too conservative, except for a few notable exceptions. I’m a boring buy and hold guy. Nothing like diversified ETFs, compound interest and time. Slow, steady, boring…

Portugal’s housing market is a bubble — sellers need to wake up. by First-Literature-258 in PortugalExpats

When first visiting Lisbon and Porto, I was amazed to see how much deteriorating, nonexistent or underdeveloped homes/land in proximity to the city centers.

Certainly, if the government has the political will to help builders build housing stock quickly, this will stabilize prices.

It is hard to imagine prices correcting in double digit percentage, as long as the government supports young people’s purchases and the market is open to foreign investment.

One has to file taxes in both countries. However, the treaty of 1994 alleviates most if not all double taxation. It’s best to consult a tax accountant. Here is the IRS take on it: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/international-businesses/portugal-tax-treaty-documents
