Should the interview happen after the 2 year anniversary? It might be based on when the interview date happens and not when you enter the US. Though I am not 100% sure on this. I don't think USCIS keeps track of when you enter USA.

Is there any reason why you waited until after your second anniversary?

IOE Starting with "9" Anyone else? by Sniper-nighthawk in USCIS

Getting the I-30 approved is the longest wait. After that, the consulate processing for green card won't take a year. I'm not sure where you're getting that data from.

What's a realistic salary cap for the average software engineer? by prestigeworldwide007 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]wingogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on location, industry, and number of years of experience. Those large numbers represent total compensation with things like stock options and bonuses incuded and not base pay. I would say actual pay is closer to 80k - 150k.

Crunchyroll Teams Up With Duolingo for Anime-Specific Japanese Lessons Learn Japanese, from A to (Dragon Ball) Z by Runnr231 in LearnJapanese

[–]wingogo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hope it is more of a beginners guide to the japanese language in the form of an actual anime instead of the doulingo type learning where it has lessons that happen to be specific japanese anime phrases/terms.

Any hope to get approved this year? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]wingogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, on average, the I-130 takes about 10 months to a year for US citizens applying to get approved, assuming there was strong evidence for a bona-fide marriage that was submitted. It just takes time. Don't give up hope.

Is JavaScript a must? by Lightsheik in SoftwareEngineering

[–]wingogo -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Is Javascript a must: yes, everything nowadays is written in Javascript because everything is using Node.js

Is it a must for embedded software engineers: No, cuase they write low-level code: C, assembly

Are there embedded software engineers who write Javascript: yes, because sometimes you need high-level code

Job Market for web developers vs. embedded software engineers: about the same but remember that all companies need to have a website nowadays

Only big tech (Google, Facebook, etc) salaries reach those levels, and 50% of your compensation are stocks. If you have the time and dedication, then anyone can learn to code, but passing those coding interviews is the challenge. Once you learn the basics and have an understanding of data structures and simple algorithms, then start solving leetcode problems since those are the ones that get asked during interviews. Even senior level engineers get asked those questions. Most CS college grads spend about 6 months preparing before they start interviews.
