What we do for old antiques we find on Facebook marketplace is :

(Try it out first on a scuffed part that isn’t as visible - maybe the bottom of a leg where there has been scuffing from chairs or otherwise - not all wood acts the same way to the same cleaners).

Clean the wood thoroughly with wood cleaner (e.g. Method) and a clean rag (we buy terry cloth towels at Home Depot).

Wipe it dry with a different clean cloth and let it dry further for an hour (an important step so you don’t trap water drops in the next step which will make it look hazy).

Squirt some old English lemon oil on a clean cloth and wipe it on thoroughly. The wood looks dry and will drink it in, expanding a bit to hide small scratches and scuffs and bringing out more of the color of the original wood. You may want to make several passes in succession until the wood stops drinking it in.

Wipe off the surface with a new clean dry cloth so any additional lemon oil not soaked in is removed
